CARLI
I watched as Harry parked out front of a small bakery, a sign saying that it was called "Anne's Sugar Factory". "This is a cute place." I admitted, smiling as the aroma of fresh baked goods fanned over me as Harry led me inside. Harry sent me a smile, his hand squeezing mine softly. I looked around the bakery, seeing that there was several people sitting and eating. Laughter filled the room as Harry led me up to some stools, helping me sit down on one of them. My feet dangled off of the chair, my smile growing bigger as Harry leaned against the bar and sent me a cheesy smile.
"You won't believe who owns this place." Harry told me. I raised my eyebrow at him, resting my chin in my hand.
"Oh?"
Harry smiled bigger, reaching over and ringing a little bell that was placed on the light blue tinted marble top. I looked around the room, my eyes falling on a woman walking out of the back room that I guessed was where all the making and baking happened. I looked carefully at her, to my surprise she looked extremely similar to Harry. The same smile, the same color of hair, smiling eyes. Wait a second, she looks like she could be his-
"Mum!" Harry exclaimed. He got up, walked over to her and engulfed her in a hug as she laughed.
"My boy! It's been so long since I last saw you. What have you been doing?" She asked, her eyes looking up at her sons. Harry towered over his mother, her stature not as tall as his. I watched as her fingers pushed some of his hair out of Harry's eyes, then scowling when the hair didn't stay.
"I've been pretty busy, I hope you can forgive me." Harry said, his voice filled with guilt. I sat there, not saying a word. Surely they would say something, right?
"Of course, Harry! Don't I always? Besides, I like you busy then sitting on your bum and not doing anything for yourself. I'm glad you found something you enjoyed."
"I would love to show you some of my work, mum. But I need to show you something that's even more important than any art work I've ever made." Harry said, moving slightly to the slide. His eyes fell on me once again, his lips turning into a smile. Reaching out his hand, he helped me down off the stool and stood me next to him. I don't think she was talking about art work..
Harry's mom looked at me, her smile brightening. "Oh you must be her.."
"Excuse me?" I asked politely.
"You must be the woman that changed my boy to a better man. Look at you! You're the most beautiful girl he has ever dated." She said.
I felt my cheeks redden, my gaze falling to the floor. "Mum, this is Carli. My girlfriend, the love of my life. My baby. My princess. Carli, this is my mum, Anne."
"Carli? What a pretty name!" Anne said, pulling me into a hug. Hugging her back, I was glad that Anne liked me instantly. She seemed to be an amazing woman and special to Harry, even though he never really talked about her much. Maybe there was a reason behind it?
"Thank you." I breathed, holding Harry's hand tightly in mine. "Your bakery smells divine."
Anne smiled at my compliment as she wiped her hands on her flour caked apron. "Oh, you should try what I bake, dear. Do you guys have any time to taste a few things on the menu?"
My stomach grumbled at her offer, my head nodding. "Yes, we do." Harry answered, resting his hand on the small of my back. He guided me to a booth close to the back, helping me sit down as Anne walked back into the kitchen. Harry sat beside me, his arm wrapping around me and pulling me tightly into his side.
