Chapter 14

this was originally going to be much longer but I want to publish something haha!

It was around five in the morning when Katelyn was awoken by someone hitting her face. Typically a light sleeper, she woke up immediately, her eyes darting around the room in panic before memories from yesterday came flooding through her mind. Glancing at Hailee sleeping peacefully beside her, Katelyn couldn't resist the urge to take a photo.

Smiling, Katelyn grabbed her phone and snapped a few pictures of the sleeping brunette. She was cute, and if they were going to be friends, those are going into the categories of blackmail materials. Smiling, she tried to get off the bed. Try being the word, since when Katelyn tried to move up, Hailee immediately wrapped her arms tightly around her abdominal, preventing the girl from moving. Huffing, Katelyn relaxed back into Hailee's hold.

Not that she was complaining. She has no idea how the two of them even end up on the same bed since Hailee had already set up the guest bedroom for her. They were binging Stranger Things until around two in the morning, and by then they must have gotten too tired to move. Or at least Katelyn had gotten too lazy to move, or maybe she fell asleep halfway through the last episode of season 3 in Hailee's bed.

But it was a comforting change from falling asleep in her bed alone. She never knew she was a cuddler until tonight, but there were always things Katelyn was still learning about herself. Twisting herself, Katelyn grabbed her phone on the bed stand, glancing at Hailee, surprised when the singer was still asleep.

Unlocking her phone, Katelyn frowned at the amount of missed calls she had from James, a spam of text from Jessie, and nothing from Leigh. Not that Katelyn was expecting anything. They were basically still strangers to each other.

Tapping into James' contact, Katelyn opened their message, scrolling back to the top as she glanced through the spam coming through.
