A day passed as Beatrix laid on the bed her bed still paralysed.
Caius hadn't left her.
He ignored every responsibility he had as a Volturi king so he could be with her when she woke up and be with her during her first feed.
"She's still not awake," said Aro as he walked into the room.
He held a vase of deep red roses as he walked to any surface he could put them on.
"I don't want your pity," Caius said.
"You should know none of this was your fault," said Aro.
Caius looked at him "I allowed a human into the throne room, something I swore would never happen" said Caius.
"You cannot tell what the future will be.
Eventually, Beatrix would have been turned.
No matter what this would always be the result" said Aro.
"I should have been me," said Caius.
"Sometimes we can't have that luxury brother," said Aro before walking out.
Caius looked at Beatrix before kissing her head.
He wished he could apologise even though he wasn't to blame.

Hours passed as eventually night covered the castle.
Caius hadn't fed and Aro was starting to get worried.
If Beatrix didn't wake up Caius would eventually starve himself so he could die and be with her.
He prayed that she would wake up.
Caius stayed by Beatrix's side as he held her hand.
His throat was burning and he was slowly losing himself but it didn't matter.
His hair was messy and his clothes were messed up.
He looked like he had walked through hell and he was starting to question if he did.
"Master Caius, you are needed in the throne room," said Jane as she walked into the room.
"Can't you see im busy?" said Caius.
"It's urgent master," said Jane.
"No, leave me," Caius said.
"Yes master," said Jane before walking out.
Caius looked at her before getting up.
He walked to the bookcase in the room and pulled out two books to open a secret safe where he kept his blood stash in case he couldn't feed.
He didn't need it before but now he was thankful for it as he couldn't get himself to leave her.
To leave his one true mate that before this he ignored because the feelings he had made him angrier and more defensive as he hadn't felt those feelings in thousands of years.
He opened a blood bag and drained it before grabbing one more and then two more and then the last bag in the safe.
He then looked at her before sitting on the bed again.
"Open your eyes il mio amore perfetto"(My perfect love) said Caius.
He just needed to know that she survived the bite.
