Finally... She decided to do the right, but isn't she late?
"Oscar! Kaylangan mo ng umalis dito! Parating na sila!" Lily's insisting, she told him many times, but he's not listening. He lost his trust, he's doubting her, it's clearer than the possibility they can survive this night
He's not saying anything, like deaf, like mute, but the way he glares is something you can't imagine that he's capable with
"Aurora! Sabihan mo nga si Oscar! Sya yung gusto kong iligtas dito! Kaylangan sya ng bayan" awareness, after everything, she can still catch up easily
"Paano kita paniniwalaan? Kung alam mong dalikado, bakit nandito kapa?" She's in fact almost at her peak
"Hindi ako ang puntirya ni Don Ignacio! Kung meron man gustong tumapos sakin dito sila Renato at Cardo yun!" And there is it, gunshots, raining bullets, the dark place sparkles with every trigger
"Oscar! Kaylangan na nating umalis!" Oscar cover Aurora, taking a gun with him making sure that she can make out of there alive, and Lily? She stays still not until he heard a groan of a familiar man, sure Oscar did too
"Lily! Nandyan si Renato!" After all, he still believes in humanity, pain, anger, disgust, aren't enough to break what he believes in
"Bitawan mo ko!" For a second their eyes locked, and there is this connection
"Oscar! Na corner nila tayo!" Aurora is panting, maybe, maybe they're too tired of running, too sick of hiding, they're not afraid anymore
"Oscar! Ang anak ko lang ang kaylagan ko!" They heard Ignacio, Lily is ready to face him, but not now, not when she's defenseless. The voice was followed by "gusto ko si Lily ng buhay" it was Renato
"Umalis na kayo" her authoritative voice, that sounds like a favor. "Kaylangan ka ng bayan Oscar" with that, Oscar is ready to abandon her, who is she anyways? She's too late for redemption, too early for torment
Another bullets rain is heard, and they don't know that those are from Armando's army until his face to face with them. "Madam, ayos lang ba kayo?" This man grown a concern for Lily, but until when? When he learns that Lily crosses him and she betrayed him too?
"Kaylangan na nating umalis"
Look at the bigger picture, all of this mess is her fault, and she did one thing! One small thing. "Sakto ang pag dating nyo Armando" is that enough? We know it'll never
"Madam, may sugat ka" she didn't even realize it, she can't feel it too, numb? No, too exhausted to feel more
She never felt so weak, so lost, so disrupted, she never felt this thing. Standing in front of Armando, back to his mansion. She's starting intently, trying to find answers to all her questions, but nothing. She looks around, and the glimpse of him catch her attention, how he can still keep going? How can he still keep moving forward? He's a strong and a brave man, one of the things Lily admired with his husband oh? Is he still considering her as his wife? Who would know?
Oscar sees her look at Armando, glaring at her from a distance, now he knows, now he knew why there's this wall between them. A wall, they never knew existed, a gap, a space, she'll never be complete because this is a part of her. Now he wonders, how can she smile and look so innocent when behind everything is this.
He feels a weird thing that in tangles with his heart. He watches her get weak on her knees, as she falls right into Armando's arm
No, he's not just going to watch, he's sick of her fooling around. He dragged her, in one of the available rooms, he pulled her, and she didn't bother to fight back, or compose her stability, she didn't even care about what will happen next, all she knows is that she's tired. Oscar let go of her, and it sends her to the ground, even Oscar is astonished, "sorry" with his gentleness, he helps her to stand up, and then back to his angry facade. "Anong ginagawa nyo huh?! May pinaplano nanaman ba kayo?!" He can't trust her anymore
"Oscar" she managed to say his name before passing out and falling onto his arm, Oscar asks help in an instant, not gonna deny it, he's worried. Because she's not just frail, she's also pale
He waits for her to wake up, not leaving her side you know this silly excuse when you want to do something but in a low-key way? He said he doesn't want her to scape, but to be honest, he's just wanting to look after her. He's her wife
Oscar fell asleep, and when he drifts out of sleep, she's not on her bed anymore, they look for her, everywhere and he remembered that the bathroom door is locked. "Lily! Buksan mo to" he's so sure that she's in there. "Yung susi dali!" One of his nightmare, she's on the ground, and the bathroom floor is covered with her blood. "Tumawag kayo ng doctor!" He covered her exposed cut on her wrist, "Lily" his heart didn't stop pumping rapidly until the doctor said she's fine
He looks at Aurora trying to find some assurance, but she gave him pity, she gave him confusion, he shouldn't be here, caring for a person who betrayed him. But, what he's doing? Looking out for her in the past hours. She woke up, and instead of critique her, he gave her water, he helped her sit, "Oscar? Do me a favor" it's dawn
"Ano yun?"
She takes off a gun. "Gusto kitang bayaran, ikaw ang gumawa nito" she makes him hold it, and the look he gave her is more than interested than disbelief, she holds his hand and bring the gun pointed at her head. "Do it for me"
Tell me? Would you choose to do right when there's nothing left? Or go to the other way when there's nothing right?
His hand is shaking, he can't do this, not this way... Lily steals back the gun, and pointed it to her head. "Ako ang gagawa para sayo" not fast enough, Oscar hugs her, setting aside the gun
"Huwag mong gagawin to please, kung gusto mong mag bayad gawin mo sa ibang paraan" this man, this man is begging for her life, her life...
"I want an easy way"
"Lily, do you want to live?" Just a yes or no question, "do you want to live?" He repeated
"If you want to save me? Die with me" both of them has tears in their eyes, it's flowing so freely.
A gunshot...
