It has a been a week or so since me and Dan, the teacher who is a sort of guide to integrating me into society, began working together. Discussing what sort of society now dominates the world and what to expect upon beginning my life here. Though the discussions were mostly lectures there was something that put me on edge. I knew from the beginning that I would be the center of attention but the type of attention I have been getting is........very different to say the least. The second day of me living here, my roommates found our dorm's entrance way covered with letters, pictures, and all sorts of other things, glued, taped, or tucked into any space around the door frame. The letters were filled with flirtatious words, lewd pictures of the author or silent beginnings to be more than just a friend. To add on to that, they were all directed to me. My roommates luckily took care of most of them, and the remaining ones I got rid of, knowing that even attempting to politely confront the writers would most likely lead to me on a bed, being a sex toy for the girls of this campus, though that was an extreme that I imagined.
Though the amount of these letters reduced over time, I at least managed to speak to Sarah. It seems Dan was wrong about his hypothesis of why she was working out. In reality, she was doing it because she wanted to be more fit, though a part of her wished it was for a more lewder reason. Regardless, nothing has been out of the ordinary, well besides a few run ins with Anthony and his gang. Though we merely shared some words to put it lightly, it never went beyond that, luckily. Now, I was enjoying a bit of a break, the homework, class times, and the bustling day of a student had taken a toll on me. Sitting up on the roof's edge, I gave a relaxed sigh as I looked over the campus, Nate sitting beside me. Over the course of the week, I have gotten to Know Nate, Mack, and Ben a bit more, and to be honest am glad to call them close friends. Smiling over the fact things have been fairly good this past week, Nate spoke up after taking a swig from a can of soda he got from a vending machine.
Nate: I forgot how calm it is up here, simply sitting here and taking in the cool breeze. Especially for you and your hectic week.
Blake: You could say that again.
I replied with a smile before Nate sighed.
Nate: You know, I always thought meeting a human would be strange but I was wrong, though I am curious, I don't see you hanging around with Sarah you two have a falling out?
Blake: No, it's not that, since you guys told me of Anthony and his gang, I was afraid they would use her to get to me, so till we figure something out, we are......distancing ourselves to protect each other.
Nate: I see.........that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard, like you know your in love with a shark right?
Blake: Y-Yeah, what does that have to do with anything?
Saying that, Nate gave a look of disbelief as he shook his head, grabbing the bridge of his snout with his index finger and thumb.
Nate: Gosh darnit Blake, I thought you would at least know that no one messes with sharks around here, and especially with someone like Sarah.
Blake: That doesn't explain anything, is there something your not telling me?
Speaking my words, I sighed clearing my thoughts before speaking again.
Blake: Let me rewind a bit, sharks are one of the few species, I presume there are others, that other Anthro's don't mess around with, but yet you are sharing that there is something more to Sarah that she most likely hasn't shared with me. That sound about right?
Nate: right on the head, I don't know what she has shared with you but I won't gossip about her. What i will say is this, everyone, well except you, here on campus knows that her family are......and pardon my french as you humans say it, a bunch of badasses and pretty much trained her how to fight.
