"Find what you love and let it kill you."

"I am staying here," Giovanni muttered, relaxing back in the car seat. "Deal with the bastard."

I sighed. He was just going to fucking watch her on his phone.

I got out of the car, buttoning my suit. The hotel was an old one - one of the most well known in downstate New York. I met Dante at the entrance, his face covered with fury. Xerxes and Ashton glanced at me. Zavier must have stayed with Olivia.

"What do they want?" I asked as we entered the lobby which instantly quieted.

"A bullet in their heads," muttered Ashton as Xerxes replied with an actual answer," Angelo. Camorra had been fucking with Bratva for too long."

We entered an elevator. I rolled my shoulders. I didn't want to deal with Alexi, his bitch of a sister and his lapdog today. Not when every second I spent was taken out from the time I had left with Leyla.

"It was in the agreement," Dante said. "That any movement within other crime organisations would be informed - no matter how small." He glanced at me. "You taking Angelo, a capo, and not telling Alexi was a breach of trust."

Not only Alexi's, but Dante's too.

"Let's just hope the agreement will hold today," Xerxes said, taking a gun out of his pocket and checking the bullets. "I just bought this suit."

. . .

Alexi Sokolov stood near the railing. His sister stood beside him, almost as tall as him and Nikolai was on the other side, watching silently.

For the past few years, we had tolerated the Bratva and they had tolerated us. We had properties in Russia and they had properties in our territory. We weren't allies in a way that suggested we trusted each other - but Giovanni and Alexi had formed some sort of a friendship in illegal fights. That went to hell when he came here, unannounced.

Breaching the agreement. But we had breached it first. I knew Creeds were pissed at us. That conversation would come soon enough.

"My allies," Alexi said, voice filled with venom as he smiled, that rose tattoo seemed to fade away as his scar became more visible. Alexi was a true capo, or Pakhan as the Bratva called it.

"Alexi," I said. "I wasn't aware you were going to pay us a visit."

"I wasn't aware that the agreement had ended," He said. "But apparently, it has." He smiled again, it looked all kinds of wrong on his face. I wondered how much trouble it'd cause if I just pushed him off the roof.

"We were going to inform you about him," Dante said. "We were delayed."

He put his hands in the pockets of his three piece suit, eyes looking over all of us. "Delayed by what?"

"Something which does not concern you," said Xerxes. "This meeting is meaningless. The agreement holds."

"Does it?" He asked, eyes flashing. "Angelo was an ally to my father," he said. "Someone I've had an aim on for quite a while and you find him and conveniently forget to tell me."

I rubbed my forehead. Zavier or Giovanni should have been here - they were the smooth talkers. I just wanted to kill the bastard and get it over with.

"It is not our fault you couldn't find him," Ashton said, green eyes bright behind his glasses.

"Will he be killed?" Asked Alisa, her voice steel.

"No," I said. "We need him for something else."

Her jaw tightened, curls fluttering in the air. "You plan to hand him over to his son for your sister."
