"Even in Hades
I am with you."
. . .Giovanni Valentino
I looked at her. "There are rules."
She looked at Leyla. "I don't like his tone."
Leyla sighed, sitting on the armrest of my chair. Gabriella Campbell stood across the table, arms folded against her graphic t-shirt and eyes narrowed.
"Gabriella," Leyla said. "It's for our safety."
"I still don't like his tone."
Leyla looked at me. "Be nice," she murmured. "She's a kid."
I sighed. "There are some rules," I said with a smile. Gabriella eyed my smile. "Rules which will keep you safe. Always go out with a bodyguard - no sneaking out without a bodyguard."
She looked at Leyla. "It's my age of sneaking out!"
"You need to be safe first, Gabby," Leyla said. "Okay? I don't want anything to happen to you. We don't really have enemies there but we are still going to be a target."
"Whos target? Creeds?" Gabriella demanded. "They won't hurt us, even after what Dante did."
Leyla's jaw tightened. "Let's not talk about that."
"He killed Michael."
"Rosa died, he wasn't thinking."
"Who is Rosa anyway?" Asked Gabriella. "Michael was my friend."
"Rosa was my friend," Leyla snapped. "And she was someone who did not deserve to die, as Michael didn't deserve to die. I am sorry Michael died, I really am. I didn't know he was your friend."
"I'm sorry," Gabriella muttered. "I didn't know you were close to her."
"It's okay," Leyla said. "It's okay." I took her hand, pressing a kiss on her knuckles. She gave me a grateful smile and then turned to Gabriella. I kept my mouth shut. Leyla could handle this.
"No sneaking out. That is the only rule," Leyla said. "The only rule which matters."
I frowned. "There are other rules-"
She squeezed my hand, shaking her head. Of course, the rules needed to be broken down for her sister slowly.
Gabriella nodded. "Alright."
"Then it's settled." She got off the armrest, the softness of her pink dress brushing on my arm. That little dress gave me a lot of...thoughts. Thoughts which would make her sister punch me in the face. "We will leave in a week. All the arrangements are done for you to join a private school."
"Whos my legal guardian now?" She asked.
"I am," Leyla said.
She frowned. "How?"
I twirled the knife around my fingers. "I know people."
"Oh," Gabriella muttered. "Okay." She looked at me. "I have a demand."
"Let's hear it."
She grinned. "I want money."
"Gabby!" Leyla shot her sister a look.
"What?" Gabriella said. "Is he not your boyfriend?" She flipped her curly hair above her shoulder. "I don't have access to my account. I need money. He seems to have it."
"You can have a card," I said.
Leyla turned to me. "She will buy useless shit, you know that."
I shrugged. "I don't care."
