Chapter 5

. . . It felt good to be home after such a long and hard day. Well, maybe a little over a day.

Y/N's POV

I woke up and stretched out my arms, yawning I looked around the room. I was alone again, I think Eda woke up early to take away Luz and King. I laughed quietly and checked my scroll, I could go to school today if I wanted. I feel rested enough, just a bit sore. So, I decided I want to go. I got out of bed and got my uniform, then got into the shower to clean myself up. I finished quick and checked the time, it had gone by quick so I needed to rush a little if I wanted to not be late. I let my hair air dry, did some stuff for skin care, used some lip scrub, and put on some mascara and lipgloss. I don't always do makeup, but when I do I do it because it makes me happy. I ran back over to my room and put on my uniform, it had a color for each track.

While I got dressed, I started thinking about when I first came to Hexside and found out I could only take one magic track. I was unbelievably angry over it and decided to do Bard magic until I could persuade Principal Bump to let me do all tracks. I spent my first month causing mayhem trying to convince him to allow me to learn all of the tracks. Eda taught me things at home, but I also wanted an outside education. I almost got expelled since my nonsense had got me suspended often, but one day he finally gave in. Bump allowed me to do every track. By doing so, it actually revealed that a lot of other students wanted to do more as well. So many kids were upset that I was the acception. I remember the day my uniform went from just Bard magic to all, and it made me so happy. I've been trying to work with Bump to allow other kids to do multi tracks as well but he's not having it. He said that it would be too risky because of the Emperor. Since it's already risky with me, he's strict about stuff. It really sucks, but it's worth it. For example, if anyone of authority is visiting the school I have to wear a Bard uniform and use a different schedule. Outside of school, I've tutored kids because Bump requested it. On my own time, I secretly help some kids learn other magic as well. I'm a good teacher.

I grabbed my staff and bag, inside of my bag I kept my main instruments, a violin and flute. For Bard magic, I can play many instruments such as the violin, flute, guitar, bass guitar, electric guitar, and piccolo. I put on some shoes and hurried downstairs. Eda, King, and Luz were all hanging out already. "Book bag, colorful uniform, and you have your staff? Are you going to Hexside?!" Luz exclaimed, practically screaming at the end. She ran to me and looked at my uniform. "Yeah, I go to school there Luz." I said laughing a bit. Eda came over and leaned against a wall, "You sure you're up for going in today, kid?" She asked with slight concern. I shrugged, "I'll be fine, I'm just feeling a bit sore is all. I need to get back to school though, I feel like I'm getting more dumb." I made a zombie like face at the end and made Eda chuckle. "Alright, get outta here kid. See you later." She came over and pulled my hood over my head. My knees buckled and I wobbled for a second.

On my way out I hugged Eda, messed with Luz's hair and gave her a hug, and then picked up King and gave him a kiss on the head. Luz started asking Eda to send her to school too even more than she already was, it was funny. I got on Juicebox and flew to Hexside. When I arrived some kids were still hanging around outside, but most were going in. I started walking up to the school and got up the steps when someone called out my name. "Hey, Y/N!" I turned around and the Blight twins were standing there behind me, they were both leaning against a pillar. "Uh, hey Ed, hey Em. What do you want?" I greeted them then just kind of got to the point, I made sure to sound sweet but I was still suspicious because I haven't interacted with the two much.

Ed started talking, "So... Tonight is the Wailing Star and Em and I were kinda wondering, since you're cool and all, if you would um-" He sounded nervous and his face was all red. I crossed my arms and raised a brow, he peaked my interest. "We were wondering if you would want to hangout with us tonight, maybe get up to some shenanigans." Em said, finishing Ed's sentence. "Y-Yeah, what she said." Ed added on causing the two of them to smile. "Oh, uh, yeah sure. Do you guys want my number?" I asked, laughing a bit nervously. "Totally!" They both exclaimed, I exchanged numbers and penstagrams with them both and we all walked to class together. Em had to go a separate way, but Ed and I have our first class together so we walked and talked. He's very sweet.
