“Sir?” Danielle panted, sliding around the corridor after her boss.
Gio continued walking.
“Sir? Sir please! I have erm- ah shit,” her many papers fell to the floor dramatically. Gio stopped, debated for a while and then turned to help her.
“Sir, some of these are for you I- I don’t know which ones,” she fumbles, flustered. “Also Mr Scott wanted to see you about something? Something about that girl from Delvoye? Sorry I can’t remember-”
Gio stopped her abruptly with his hand and picked up a sheet of paper from the floor. He read it two, three, four times before standing up and leaving without another word.
Giovanni stormed into Chris’ office without knocking and slammed the document down.
“What the fuck is this?” he boomed.
Chris was unfazed.
“Elimination of the Delvoye CEO to take place next week?” he read from the sheet.
Chris remained silent with a sickening grin on his face.
“The boys and I have told you we don’t do your dirty work anymore, you said that would be our last one. And the Delvoye girl? Are you fucking insane? You-”
“Watch your mouth Rossi. You’ll do whatever I damn well tell you to,” Mr Scott yelled, standing out of his chair. “I have given you an assignment and you will complete it. The consequence for failure will be... severe.”
Chris turned his laptop so that Gio could see. Gio stopped breathing when he saw his son looking up at him with mindless eyes. The picture was in the park. The face was so clear.
“How?”
“Will you do the assignment?”
“Yes... sir.”
Gio left wondering who could have possibly told Chris about-
Wait.
“Robert.”
