The Underlust Situation

This is a quick chapter and profile post I am making to show what I will do with the current Shamecave and their Underlust AU situation.

I DO NOT SUPPORT SEXUAL ASSAULT, MINOR FETISHIZING, INCEST/FONCEST, ETC. I AM HEAVILY DISGUSTED BY IT AND IF YOU ARE SOMEONE WHO LIKES OR IS FINE WITH IT,
GET THE F-CK OUT.

I am making this whole chapter because this story is a Lustmare fanfiction, AKA it includes a variant of the character Underlust Sans.

Shamecave may have given up the AU to the community, but the content they had created for it still exists in canon.

However, fanon of the character still exists, like Unlust, AUs that have minor inspiration off of Underlust, and technically, fanchildren of Lust with various other Sans' is all fanon, and not connected to the main AU/Creator in any way other than being inspired/based off of the original.

I myself, never really liked or interacted with the main AU. The only things I liked about canon Underlust was that Sans was purple, had nice boots, and that Frisk was Asexual.

The fact that Chara was made wearing something quite provocative (Shamecave may have aged them up, but it's still a bit uncomfortable), Mettaton was sexually assaulted and then treated like it was a fetish/interesting thing, Sans and Papyrus were uncomfortably sexual with each other (Shamecave also drew/supported fontcest), and all the characters in general had very bad development and most had bad design (as mentioned earlier, the only designs I liked was Sans' and Frisk's).

I know that's a bit of a strange thing to say for such a topic, 'oh the characters looked weird/uncomfortable and they had bad stories etc etc', but what I mean is that Shamecave seemed to treat sexual assault as only an 'interesting' story progressor.

Let me explain: Mettaton was sexually assaulted by a group of monsters (I don't want to check because I don't want to see that) and then was apparently permanently stuck in their body, causing obvious severe trauma/PTSD, and depression. However, Shamecave didn't seem to want to have Mettaton be actually affected by this extremely traumatic experience. It was just a 'oh this character was assaulted so they can have a cute relationship with this overly sexual yet soft character ooooohh'.

THAT IS NOT.
HOW YOU WRITE/DEPICT TRAUMA IN THE SEXUAL SENSE.

A better way would be to first research the psychological affects, talk to someone -maybe even several people- about the topic, and make sure to not be insulting in your depiction of the character.

To be honest, I am always quite anxious about characters that I make with mental and/or physical trauma/disorders. I only know how a handful work personally, since my family has a long line of physical and mental illnesses, and I have met and talked with a myriad of people who have other traumas they are willing to share.

In fact, I was born hypermobile/with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, most definitely neurodivergent (finally getting properly reviewed for Autism this upcoming week), and I am traumatized in several ways and ranges. I personally confirmed that I most likely have PTSD around three years ago when I had a nervous breakdown/panic attack in public over a 'small thing', and I am more terrified of sexual intimacy than ever before since getting into a relationship (that had ended, thank goodness) where I didn't know what I was doing. I have also been touched/viewed by my parents in a sexual light, whether they meant it/were joking around or not (mainly the abusive old man, I don't call him the male version of parent).

I have experienced mental/verbal, emotional, physical, and minor sexual trauma. I get easily uncomfortable when someone tries to lazily depict these subjects. Most of the time, it is sadly young children who try to.

The way I am trying to write this story, 'The Seven Deadly Skele-Sins', is that Sans (Lust) was forced to work in a sexual business to protect his family from blackmail (I am slightly spoiling it because this is a serious conversation), and had the chance to start a new and better life as Lust.

He was severely sexually traumatized and developed Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder from those experiences and had gained another dump of trauma from Nightmare killing those people in front of him, and he wouldn't just suddenly trust someone if they were nice to him once.

Injuries take time to heal, and sometimes they never go away.

Continuing minor spoilers, Lust will never fully heal from his sexual trauma, but he will heal from his violent trauma from that walk with Nightmare (main violent experience), and he would become more confident in standing up and defending himself.

Nightmare doesn't immediately 'fix' him, Lust slowly gains his confidence and starts feeling safe with the help of others, not with romance, but first with companionship.

Back to the main topic, the main Underlust AU is not to be interacted with, and neither should Shamecave.

However, AUs, stories, and characters based off of Lust or the AU aren't evil. If the creators of these variants makes problematic things, then don't interact with them.

People can still like Lust Sans or the 'idea' (the idea in sexual terms is really unsettling, but the idea of the underground not being reproductive enough and needing help might be if written correctly) if they themselves aren't going to be making or supporting disgusting things.

I will continue writing this fanfiction, liking the ship Lustmare, and drawing Lust, but my own, better, version of him.

If you wish to unfollow me, go ahead! If seeing this character in any way now makes you uncomfortable, I completely understand and have no judgement or hate, but please understand that I do not like the main Underlust AU or it's original creator.

I like the version of Lust and the versions of the AU that aren't absolutely disgusting and sh-tty.

Have a pleasant day or night, and thank you for reading.
