Elena POV

"It all happened too fast. Mami was just here" Little Elena thought to herself.

...

"Elena, make sure to change your sheets to your bed." Mom reminded.

"Okay Mama."

Her mom threw a few things into a purse. She put on a shade of red lipstick in a small mirror near the kitchen.

"Brianna put the dishes away when you have a chance." She ran out the door, paused, and remembered to give her daughters a kiss on the cheek.

"Mom! There's lipstick on my cheek." Brianna complained as she tried to smear it off.

"Just mix it with your blush and get off it!" Their mom giggled while doing the same to Elena.

" I love you guys so much!" She said as she ran out the door.

The truth was Elena forgot about her bedsheets. She was must more interested in going outside. She collected rocks and weeds. When she was younger, she thought she was supposed to be a fairy. She only grew out of her phase half way, because she loved making little houses out of the nick nacs she found outside. Because if the area,

she wasn't allowed to go out past the back yard.

After an hour of her exploring the dirt, Brianna called her back in.

"Elena I changed your sheets and I made you lunch."

"Coming!"

She ran in like a dog at dinner time. They ate mac and cheese. Brianna suddenly got a call.

"Hello."

"Hey honey it's Uncle Ron." He said sorrowly.

"Oh hello! How are you! It's nice to hear from you." said Brianna.

"Um not very good." He stated. " I have some bad news."

Brianna looked confused. "What's wrong."

" I got a call from the LA fire department and they said your mom got in a car accident."

Brianna panicked. "Is she okay."

"Sweetie this is hard to say but she passed away."

Elena gasped and Brianna stood in shock and confusion. They never thought such a tragedy would happen.

"Brianna?"

"Oh." She replied.

"I'm really sorry. They called me because I was her emergency contact. I told them you guys are at home and they said the crash was really bad and they don't want minors by themselves at the hospital."

Brianna started to cry.

"Okay." She sobbed. " Thanks for letting me know."

"Of course sweetie. I'm really sad too. Is there anyone you can stay with?"

Elena shook her head.

"We don't really talk to the neighbors because of the gangs and stuff. I don't know my mom's friends or anything." Brianna explained. Elena saw her shaking the phone in her hand.

"You remember Jazzy right."

"Yeah."

" I'm going to see if she can head out."

Brianna nodded.

"Thank you."

"I'm so sorry Bri-"

Elena sobbed on the couch. Brianna took a deep breath and started to clean up the kitchen. Elena though her sister was a perfect little robot. She rarely showed emotion. She was always too put together. She wasn't messy or out of order. She always cleaned up and had the nicest clothes on. Even her sweatpants had a matching hoodie with some embellishment she put.

Moments later, 6 texted Brianna about her dilema about work. Elena didn't want to be alone.

"Elena look at me." Her sister looked her in the eyes. "We are going to ge through this together okay."

Elena shook her head and sobbed more. Brianna hugged her sister tightly.

Jasmine texted Elena back offering if Anthony could stay.

"I think we just need someone mija."

Elena remembered when their dad used to live with them, he would call them that. It mad her more sad that he wasn't around either. He taught them Spanish. Ever since the police took him away, she was still a little fought with her Spanish. She sobbed the rest of the day as she held a stuffed toy in her chest.
