(This is the song u sing for the festival thingie)
I can't take this anymore, the smell of rubber gloves and sterile surfaces is making me go crazy.
I stood up from my chair and quickly walked over to the counter, leaning forward with both of my hands on the cheap quartz surface in an attempt to be intimidating.
"How much longer until I can go see her?"
The receptionist lady glanced up from her phone and shrugged a bit, taking her feet off of the counter on the other side
"Dunno, could be a few more hours. How should I know? Go take a seat and wait your turn."
"But shes dying, she might not HAVE hours"
She sighed and glared at me, probably upset that I interrupted her texting.
"Listen lady, the other people here are waiting the same as you, alright? Go sit down and wait for a doctor to come out and tell you what's up. That's all you can do right now."
I grumbled and walked back to my seat, flopping back into it.
"Miss Hayes?"
I shot to my feet and turned to see a female nurse with blonde hair looking at me with a expression of slight nervousness on her face
"That's me, is she okay? She's going to be fine right?"
She waved me forward and I followed her through the door into a white hallway
She opened a door for me and as I passed her to go inside, I saw a doctor holding a clipboard.
"miss Hayes, come in."
I don't like his tone.
I walked in and saw her through the window, looking more fragile than usual, lying completely still.
She could have been dead for all I know, except for the life support beeping next to her.
"Sir, she's going to be okay, right? I can't lose her, she's all I have."
He sighed and glanced down at his clipboard.
"Your a bit young to be here, where are your parents?"
My Parents.
"They didn't care enough to come. Its just me."
He nodded and pulled a sheet of paper off of his clipboard, handing it to me.
"she doesn't have long, an hour at most. Her heart attack was worse than the others, and her brain is starting to shut down from the lack of blood flow to her head. I'm sorry miss Hayes."
I felt a pit start to open in my chest, I felt like screaming, crying, punching something.
"May I go see her?"
He nodded and opened the adjoining door into the hospital room, letting me pass through.
I hurried to the other side of the room and pulled a chair to the bedside, reaching for her hand.
"Grandma, wake up. Please."
I saw her eyes flutter and open halfway as she raised her head to see who it was.
"Celia."
I felt her squeeze my hand slightly, feeling a tear roll down my face at the sound of her weak voice.
"How are you feeling?"
She let out an airy sigh as she rested her head back against the pillows, letting her eyes close again.
