Chapter Six

Aarohi's POV:

I put my handbag and the things on my dressing table, walked near my cupboard and took out a plain grey top and black shorts. After freshening up, I dried my hair, while doing so my phone rang. I off the dryer, looked my phone to see 3 missed calls from Chamgadar?

'Why did he call me? That also trice? Wanna call him back or not?' While debating with my mind and heart, my phone rang again,

"What do you want Chamgadar?!" I attend the call and shouted in frustration, not getting why his calling me non-stop.

"Chamgadar? Aaru me tumhara friend ho, chamgadar nahi"

Huh? I looked my phone screen in confusion, my eyes widened to see Neha's name written not Neil's.

Shit!

Neha and me have been friends ever since in college. She's the only friend I have. At first I was shocked to hear she wants to be friends with me, I bet with my own self she will leave me soon because of my stubbornness. But surprisingly she survived and we have been best friends until now.

"Aaru!"

"Ha! Yes Neha"

"I'm calling you for long. What are you dreaming? Boyfriend?" Her voiced held mischievous tone.

"In your dreams. Now tell me why did you call me?"

I heard her scoffed, "Why can't uh?"
"Neha"

"Pahle batao mujhe ye chamgadar kaun hai? Aur tum uska naam kyu liya when I called you? Is he someone special in your life uh Aaru?" Neha asked many questions.

"Neha kyu tum itna saaval pooch rahe ho? Listen, chamgadar is not an important person for you to know so you can just forget it." I explained her, yet she asked me again

"Lekin, you didn't tell me why you picked his name when-"

"Neha, stop. No more question. Now tell me the reason you called me or I will just hang up. Your choice" She sighed heavily, "Fine. Now coming to the matter, you'll be shocked when you hear this. So be ready okay" I just hummed hearing her, what could it be?

"I'mgettingengaged" Neha said in one time and that too fastly, Aarohi could catch it she just made a confuse face even though Neha can't see it.

"Wait what? I didn't hear you. Tell me clearly and slowly Neha"

"I'm getting engaged Aaru"

"What?! Since when did this happen?"

"Actually his my childhood crush, the one I used to tell you. One day his family came and asked me for marriage. At first I was shocked, then I met him and talked to know he was forced or not. Luckily he wasn't forced, he told me he liked me since kid and now he wish to marry me."

"And you said yes?"

"Of course yes! Which idiot will say no to their childhood crush not everyone gets this kind of chances aaru. Then they talked and fixed the date for engagement, it's on 30 June."

"Okay let me proceed this information . First of all congratulations and second why in the hell you are informing right now only? Shouldn't I know earlier about this thing? And you are inviting me to your engagement when there's only four days left?!"

I sat on my bed, receiving all this info and try to digest it. There's only four days left, how am I supposed to go if I didn't apply leave earlier.

"Sorry Aaru. I wanted to tell you earlier but didn't have the time. Now I did, I really hope you will come. No you have to come. Please Aaru, it's been years we haven't meet in person."

I sighed, "Look Neha, you know I can't easily come leaving my duty here. if I want to take leave for a day it won't be easy."

"Oh come on Aaru. You know what, I don't care what you will do, but I want you to be here with me on my special day. That's it. Matter solve no more denying me. If you still want to, then bye tata to our friendship." Before I can speak, she cut the call.

What the?

What does this woman think of herself? Suddenly she called me and told about her engagement and now she want me to be there no matter what. Eh hello Miss Neha, I'm not free like a teenager, shaking my legs in my house doing nothing. I have patients to take care of.

I lied down on my comfy bed, making me to sleep because of the long day I had today. Do believe me when I say, sleeping after taking a nice shower is the best sleep. Just when I closed my eyes, my phone rang again.

Not making the same mistake, I looked the screen to see chamgadar's name. I touched the green button and swiped it upwards,

"Hello"

Silence

"Hello"

Again silence

"Chipkali if you don't open your mouth and voice out, I'll spam your WhatsApp"

Seriously, his threatening me with that? I think he forgot I can just block him.

"Kya chahiye?" Not because I'm scared of him, it's just I'm to lazy to fight with chamgadar.

"Ha dekho. Tum bhaat kar saakthi ho. Why were you in silence just now?"

"Look mister chamgadar, abhi mere mood theek nahi hai. To jo kuchh bhee tum mujhse kahana chaahte ho, vah mujhe abhi batao. Achee tarah se, varna...."

Neil can sense she was really not in the mood right now, so he avoided teasing her and went straight to the matter. "Aacha suno, are you free tomorrow?"

"Why?"

"Tell me na"

"Not sure. Why are you asking?"

"Tomorrow for dinner, let's go out and eat together."

"Wait a minute, are you asking me out? Like for a date?" Aarohi's face turned to teasing mode, where else Neil's smile dropped.

"Tum aur me? Date? Not until I'm in my bloody sense." Aarohi rolled her eyes, not like I'm eager to go with you too.

"Too bad for you chamgadar. Couldn't go with a beautiful and clever girl like me" I said proudly, flipping my hair.

"Since when did chipkalis look beautiful" Him and sarcasms. I rolled my eyes, "Dr. Aarohi is"

"Tum chipkali ho, morni nahi."

"What ever, bye!" I was going to cut the call, but he shouted "Oi chipkali don't hang up!"

"What do you want more?"

"Remember tomorrow, coming or not?"

"I'm not sure. Will see"

"Please come, I'll be waiting for you okay?" Aarohi's eye brows lifted up in confusion, waiting?

"Ha yeah whatever. Now bye" I hanged up immediately. I lied down, thinking about the dinner.  Soon I slept off, long day it was.

Without realizing, a smile appeared on Aarohi's face while sleeping.

Neil chuckled hearing the beep sound. She must be tired after the long day, lets just let her sleep and hope she will come tomorrow.

Date? Maybe or maybe not.

Neil smiled thinking about it, he lied down and switched off the light and closed his eyes, hoping for a sweet dream.
