Chapter Eight

Aarohi's POV

Today is Neha's engagement day, here I am getting ready for my duty as I was not given leave. I did my usual morning routine, and left to the Birla Hospital. Reaching there, I went to my desk and checked my schedule.

My first thing was to inject a patient ward number *** as he just finished his surgery yesterday.

"Nurse, come with me." The nurse and I reached the ward and went in to see a young boy sleeping peacefully. I went near him and caressed his hair, he was looking cute while sleeping.

"Nurse bring the injection please."

"Yes Ma'am" I took it from her, checked the injection. My brows knitted to confusion, "Nurse is this the right one?" I looked at the nurse for confirmation.

"Yes Ma'am" But I was not convinced so I asked her to check again handing the injection to her. Her face went from confusion to realization. She looked at me worriedly and scared, "Sorry Ma'am. Yeh galat injection hai." She said in low voice.

My eyes widened hearing her, "Kya?!" I whispered loudly.

"Hmm" the boy gave sound, like being disturbed. We both turned to him, I closed my eyes to calmed down and injected the boy with the right injection that the nurse gave me just now.

After that, we both went out. I stopped the nurse from walking away, "Rukko" she turned but didn't look at me.

"Do you realize what you could have done today?! You are nurse, mujhe injection dene se pahle apko dobaara jaanch kar lene chaahie tha na. Tumhara carelessness ki wajah se, socho kya ho sakta tha vo ladke ko." My voiced came out loud in anger but I tried to control it, not wanting to shout at the nurse.

"Sorry Ma'am. Main phir se nahi karonga." The nurse voice trembled like she was controlling herself from crying.

"Yaha kya ho raha hai?" Abhi asked standing in front of them. He was going to check on the boy, but then he saw Dr.Aarohi talking to the nurse, more like scolding her.

The nurse look up to Abhi, her eyes had tears. Looking at her and Aarohi, he understood that Aarohi is scolding the nurse.

"Kya hua? Aap kyu ro rahe ho?" He asked softly, Aarohi rolled her eyes seeing him like that.

"Kuch nahi sir." The nurse managed to talk in between her silent tears.

"Kuch nahi? Tum use is baare mein kyu nahi bata rahe ho?" I asked the nurse sternly. Trying to covering up the mistake is not the right thing. And I have learnt this in a hard way.

"Kaunse baat?"

"Usne aaj, mujhe galat injection diya, luckily mainne us ladko ko sahi injection diya tha. Toh yaha, main use bata rahe ho ki uske wajah se kya ho sakta tha vo ladke ko." I explained to him the matter. He looked at the nurse, "Is this true?"

"Yes sir. I'm sorry."

"As a nurse, aap bahut careful and responsible hone kee jaroorat hai. Make sure yeh baat phir kabhee na ho, if not you know the consequences." The nurse nod at them.

"Aap ja sakte hain." The nurse left saying sorry again and again. I turned to leave to but, "Dr. Aarohi. Come with me." He walked saying this, not letting me to speak.

She followed him, in mind - 'Where is he taking me?'. We stood infront of Dr. Anand Birla door, he walked in but I was standing in my place thinking why he brought me here.

"Come in" I went in, saw Anand sir, Akshu, and Neil standing there. All of them had no reaction in their face, I mean its blank.

"Kya hua? Sab theek hai na? Aap mujhe yaha kyu bulaya?" Not answering my question, Abhi give me an envelope. I was more confused now, I took and opened it. Reading the contains I was shocked.
