so she was right. it felt like the pieces of her heart that was just shattered had been stepped on once more by someone she loved. was this some cruel joke life was playing on her? "lumine? are you alright?" she snapped out of her trance. "oh god, i'm so sorry. i..i'm just very tired. nice to meet you alonya." she gave her a very, very forced but somewhat believable smile and held out her hand. "это тот свет, о котором вы говорили? она очень красивая. (is this the lumine you were talking about? she's very pretty.)" childe nodded and smiled. "she said you were pretty. also, she can't speak english or chinese very well, so i'll be your personal translator!" he grinned cheekily. at alonya. not at her. she stared at the snezhnayan woman jealously, hoping she wouldn't notice. it was supposed to be her in that spot, recieving that stupid fucking smirk, and that shitty look in his eyes that makes her fold every time. "oh uhm...i should get going. i'm really tired." childe stopped looking at alonya. "ah, okay lumine, i'll see you around. i think you two would get along well." lumine gave alonya and childe a tiny smile and went off.

as soon as she was out of their vision, she ran. she ran as fast as she possibly can. her heart seemed to burst. it was more than she could handle. she let her tears run down her cheek, the clouds started to darken. rain was pouring down the bamboo trees, soaking her. she didn't care. she didn't give a shit anymore. why was she with childe when it should've been her? why? alonya... she was so pretty. no wonder why he chose her to be his girlfriend. she tripped over a large rock and rolled down the now muddy hill into dunyu ruins. her head hurt and her arms were scratched from the rough ground. blood seeped through the small wounds on her legs and everywhere else on her body. she cried out loud, letting this heartache out. she was so ready to just let the rain drown her in itself, merge with the ground and never come back again. it was cold, but right now, that didn't matter. she just wanted to be in peace with her misery. she flipped the other way so her face was facing the sky. droplets of rain fell into her eyes, but she didn't fucking care anymore. she let out a long cry and finally, she fainted.

PAIMON'S POV

("hm....paimon is kinda hungry! where are we eating today? liuli pavillion?  wanmin restuarant? or the kiosk?") the little fairy seemed to manifest out of nowhere up on the hill where lumine once stood. she looked around, confused and then moved along down the hill. "lumine?" paimon called. looking down, she saw the outlander's unsconcious body laid on the ground. "LUMINE!" paimon yelled, rushing down at full speed to the traveller's aid. "no, no no no! you're going to be okay, please, wake up!" the smaller of the two shook the taller's body gently, desperate to wake her up. tears welling up in her eyes, paimon rushed to liyue harbor for someone to help.

she spotted childe, begging him to follow her, the three dashed to the dunyu ruins. alonya followed shortly behind as childe ran to the traveller's side. "goddamit, what did you do now, lumine?" paimon raised a brow. she has never heard childe call lumine anything but girlie and ojou-chan. she shook her head. now is not the time to worry about pet names. "c'mon....wake up!" he held his hand on her cheek and then tried ot check for a pulse. "she's alright. she's still breathing but it's better if we bring her to the  hospital." he murmured, picking her up bridal style, rushing to the nearest hospital.

LUMINE'S POV

her head hurt. it hurt like she had drank gallons and gallons of beer the night before. her eyes fluttered open to see four people by her side. she recognized three. paimon, tartaglia, and...alonya. what was she doing here? where was she? paimon glided over to her side immediately and let those welled up tears out. "oh lumine! you're okay!" the little fairy hugged the outalnder's neck tight. "pai-paimon..i ca...n't breathe" lumine smiled gently, then look over to tartaglia. he was... kissing alonya's cheek. "ты удивительная, дорогая. иди сюда, позволь мне тебя поцеловать. (you're amazing, honey. come here, let me give you a kiss.)" lumine cringed as alonya kissed the taller on the forehead. paimon noticed immediately and gasped quietly. "no. way." the fairy whispered, fearing what would happen to her travelling buddy. she knew that lumine loved tartaglia, she just didn't know how much.

childw finally noticed that the girl woke up. he rushed to her side and asked her disappointingly what happened. "lumine, what happened? did you go fight a primo geovishap again? without me?" he was wrong. it was azhdaha the two always fought together every week. "oh. uhm. no." lumine said halfheartedly, hurt that he didn't remember the activity they both did together, every week for eleven months. "it was azhdaha we always fought." the outlander muttered softly, "what'dya say?" the harbinger raised a brow. "oh, nothing." lumine frowned, looking away from all three of them. the doctor had already left around five minutes after she woke up. paimon heard it, and she was frustrated, but nowhere near how much lumine felt.

every single monday, right after their weekly duel, they would go challenge the ancient beast that once raged with rex lapis. she missed it. she cherished each and every minute that she spent with him dearly. every wound she had been dealt, every drop of blood, every single breath she held in with him, was held so close to her heart. she was just...upset he forgot. lumine would tend to his wounds every single time he had been hurt, she remembered every scar on his body, and every scratch she had given him. covered in bandages, the duo would chat along the way to azhdaha's lair. on rare ocassions, those chats wold turn into something more.

"always so excited to fight alongside with me huh, girlie?" the harbinger commented, "i might've even guessed that you'd want to join the fatui with me." lumine elbowed his stomach, rolling her eyes. "absolutely no way, tartaglia." the traveller would joke, "i do." she murmured, not brave enough to admit. "come again?" the taller of the two asked, "nothi-" she was interrupted by her chin being lifted up to the harbinger. "what is it, girlie? or do you want me to find out by kissing you?" tartaglia smirked cheekily. "as if you're that brave." "oh really now?" lumine was about to say something in retaliation but she was only met by two lips on hers. that..that was her first kiss. her first kiss had been claimed by a snezhnayan politician. her eyes widened as the warmth of his body pressed close onto hers. the kiss was gentle, but very, very lustful. it wasn't a kiss that two people would share after a date, but one where two had been aching for each other's touch for ages. one where the two had cried over the many, many times they couldn't say 'i love you' to the other. one where it was forbidden.

tartaglia let go, and the two stared into each other's eyes for what felt like forever. "i love you." the harbinger finally admitted. then when lumine wanted to repeat those words for him, he took off and left. he left. lumine led out a loud cry when she was sure nobody was there. she had never seen him since then, the man who had taken her heart and displayed it everywhere. the man that made her feel at home with herself.

"anyways, it's alonya's birthday today. we should go. get well soon, lumine." she had never thought someone calling her by her name would ever hurt. not until today. once the couple left, she finally let all those tears she had been trying to hold in while tartaglia and alonya kissed was let out. "lu..lumine? what happened? tell paimon! paimon will listen!" the little one told her reasurringly, placing her tiny hand on her shoulder. "its... its nothing, paimon. i'm just happy he found someone."
