He can remember everything like it's yesterday.

The woozy feeling.

The cold metal of the handcuffs on his wrists.

The humiliation.

The fear.

One year later

Max Thomas sat up in bed, drenched in sweat. He rubbed his eyes and looked over at his alarm clock.

6:43.

He still had time before he had to go to work.

He got up and got to his morning routine.

Shower. Get changed. Eat. Brush teeth.

The fear from Max's dream still haunted him, but he did his best to ignore it. He couldn't let this control his life forever.

Max slipped his phone into his pocket and left his apartment. Outside, in the apartment building's hall, the view was the usual. Three corpses. Four more seemingly dying sinners.

Max learned not too long ago not to mess with them. It was normal. Loona had told him that.

He left his building and walked to the IMP building. He rode the elevator up and let himself into the IMP office.

The view of the IMP office was another normal one. Blitzo was doodling horses on the whiteboard, and Moxxie and Loona were fighting while Millie tried to break them up. Max cleared his throat.

Blitzo looked up at Max. "Welcome, Max!! I need your opinion. This horse or tha-"

"Max!" Loona looked up from her fight with Moxxie and smiled at Max.

To everyone's surprise, when Max first joined IMP, he and Loona became fast friends. She was happier than before because of Max.

Max smiled back at her and went to take his seat beside her around the table.

"Alright, calm down everyone!" Blitzo clapped his hands together. "Office hours start in three minutes."

Loona stood up and went over to her secretary desk, and Moxxie and Millie relaxed at the table.

Max took out his phone and decided to find a way to kill time while waiting for a client.

-----------

Ring ring ring!

Loona picked up the phone, writing down everything she needed to know from the client.

"Blitzo!" Loona called. "We got a client coming over in thirty minutes to talk about their assignment for us."

"Great, Loonie! Alright everyone, get ready to meet our client! Clean up the table! Tidy your suits! Moxxie, stop being a dumbass!" Blitzo called out.

Max chuckled at Moxxie's pissed-off face, as did Loona. They both loved to make fun of poor little Moxxie, but inside he thought he seemed like a pretty nice guy.

They all situated themselves to look somewhat professional when they heard the knock at the office door.

In walked a tall, slender male demon. He strode with purpose, and at once Max respected him. He meant business.

He stood in front of all of them. "Hello, IMP corporation. I'm here because I need a job done. I was the head of one of the world's biggest corporations when I was alive. I was assassinated. I only recently learned who the culprit was." He slid a photo onto the table in front of them. "I want him dead. Now, which of you is best with a sniper rifle?"
