My name is Amaria Marie. I am twenty two years old, and I live in the northern clan. I'm one of the northern clan's two leaders. Everyone says I look like my mother. I take that as a compliment. I have her dirty blonde hair, her blue gray eyes, and her somewhat pale complexion. My mother was an absolute beauty. But she was also one of the kindest you could ever have met. It was no surprise that she got elected as a clan leader. My father had brown hair and brown eyes, and had a tan complexion. He was a great leader, fair and wise, and was very loyal to his clan and his family. He really loved my mom, and he showed me what a good man was supposed to be like. She died shortly after I got elected as a clan leader. She was one of the smartest people I know. Many people thought of her as a disgrace because her husband was someone from the western clan. They were exiled, until my mom grew up and was elected a leader. She always disagreed with the rule forbidding rival clans from getting involved romantically. She always said "love is love. You can't predict it or choose it. You just have to accept it and live it to the fullest." I always admired how confident she was. I've tried to be like her. Maybe on the outside it worked. But deep down on the inside, I never had any confidence in myself. I kept thinking something was wrong with me because everyone I got close to ended up hurt. So, I always had my guard up. And I was very careful about getting close to anyone. That was before I met him. He was different. There was something about him that caught my attention. I was falling for him and couldn't seem to stop. Little did I know how much my life would change. And it all started about a month ago...
