"That's good. Getting into first gear's the hardest part. Now just stay on the road. Most important rule there is." Kenny said while Clem kept her eyes on the road while occasionally glancing at him with a smile on her face.

"Now let's try shifting into second." Kenny said as Clem nodded and pulled the stick down while stepping on a pedal.

"Not bad at all. Especially for a first time. You just...gotta ease up off the clutch a little smoother, all right? You don't have to make the switch all at once." He told her, though Clem wanted another chance to do better. "I wanna do it again." She said and glanced at him again. "You will, and next time, just...be gentle." Kenny said as Clem nodded understandingly.

"And once we get down to Florida, we'll ditch the wheels, and I'll make a sailor outta you, mark my words." Kenny said then looked towards the back seat with a smile, with Y/N sitting there, playing with her shoes. "You too, Y/N!"

Kenny then sighed sadly. "I just can't get her to talk. It's unusual for her age." He said and looked back to the front.

"Well, the heater's broken, she's cold." Clem said, her being worried about Y/N too.

"Only makes sense to head for Florida sooner than later. Leave all this snow behind, right? Be like summer every day." Kenny said, then Clem smiled at the thought and replied. "Yeah, no kidding. It's freezing outside. The sooner the better for sure."

"No more winters ever again, Clem!" Kenny said and looked back at Y/N again. "I'll teach Y/N how to fish, how to swim. We'll watch the sunrise every morning. All three of us." Kenny continued as Clem nodded with a smile.

"But we ain't gettin' nowhere doing twenty-five miles an hour. Shift her into third. Let's get her really cookin'." After he said that, Clementine did as he said and pulled the stick back slightly then back up again. "Well, there you go, Clem! Time we get to Florida you'll be a better driver than me!" Clem smiled at his words and put her eyes back on the road. "I'm proud of you, Clem."

"Hey. I really appreciate you teaching me." Clem said and Kenny went into thought about something. "You know I...I always dreamed about the day, I'd teach Duck to drive. You're the best second chance I could ask for." Kenny said wholeheartedly. Clem saw at the mirror above her and looked at the back seat. "Where's your blanket, Y/N?" She said making Kenny look back at her too. "I swear, this kid never makes a peep. Who knows how long she's gone without a blanket. Duck was gabblin' a mile a minute at her age. Wasn't full sentences, but it was somethin'." Kenny said while taking off his seat belt and reaching back to put Y/N's blanket back on.

"There's nothing wrong with Y/N. She'll talk when she's ready." Clem said, not believing that anythings wrong.

"I know...just a bit odd for a child her age. Then again, Albert Einstein didn't talk 'til he was four and look how he turned out."

"Crap!"

All of a sudden, Clem lost control of the car and started to swerve around the road. "I got it! Turn the wheel!" "Don't!" The car went out of control and they all ended up crashing into a tree, getting the attention of some walkers.

Clementine passed out for a bit, but slowly opened her eyes and came back to her senses quickly, though still trying to comprehend what's going on. She touched her head, it was clearly hurting badly, though she stopped worrying about herself and immediately moved herself to check on Y/N.

"Y/N?!" She saw her, still okay, but crying loudly. "Oh, god. You're okay!" She looked to the back seat and saw that her close friend wasn't in his seat. "Kenny?!" She yelled and looked around outside through the windshield, which was now broken. She saw him laying on the ground, away from the car. Clem quickly ran outside towards him, and crouched down in front of him.

Clem shook her head in disbelief, he was covered in blood and bruises, he was seemingly passed out. She grabbed his hand softly and shut her eyes. Clem gasped when she saw him start trying to get up. "Oh shit! Are you okay, Kenny?!"

"I'm fine! I'm fine." He coughed out a reply. He then sat up, Clem moved back a bit to give him some space. "Is...Y/N okay?" He asked and Clem nodded quickly.

"Shit. Help me up." He reached out his hand, making Clem grab it and place her other hand on his arm to keep him sturdy and help him up. They both tried their best to get him up, but it didn't work as he fell back down to the ground.

"I don't...I don't feel anything." Kenny whispered out as he laid there, breathing hard. "Th-That's good." Clem replied, knowing that's not what he meant, but was hoping it was. "No...Clem, I don't feel...anything. I...I can't feel my legs. I just...can't get up."

"I can get you into the car!" Clem said, still thinking that she can save him. "I don't...shit! This ain't gonna work, Clem!" Kenny said when they looked back towards the car, seeing a walker banging on the back seat window. "Hey. Hey! Stay away from her!" He yelled which got the attention of the walker, including some other walkers around.

"You gotta go help Y/N, Clem! I ain't lettin' you watch those fuckers chew me up." Kenny said while both of them were looking at the car.

"Y/N will be safe with me. I'll take great care of her. I promise." Clem told him sadly, making Kenny smile and nod slightly. "I know you will, Clementine. I wouldn't trust Y/N with anybody else." Clem shook her head, still not wanting to believe the situation. "Now go!" As much as she didn't want to leave him, Clem ran back to the truck as Kenny yelled at the walkers to come his way.

Clem opened the car door and quickly picked up Y/N and hugged her tightly, thankful that she's okay. Clem immediately ran away, "Y/N...come on.!" then looked back at Kenny one last time, hearing him scream behind them.
