The next day i decided to make my first move. A move to potentially mend our first bad impressions if that was even possible. As much as i couldn't be bothered to even associate with an embarrassment like him, i knew i needed to give it a shot. It would make my job easier. A lot easier. Like yesterday, i arrived to class and entered the room. To my surprise, Adrian was already there, sat alone on a desk and staring out the window. An empty seat beside him beckoned me to sit there. My heart screamed no but my mind screamed yes, so obviously i went with my mind. I walked over and sat down, making him turn his attention away from the view outside the window. He glanced at me and smirked with one corner of his lips and looked away again. Well, this was gonna be awkward. "Hey...I'm Sorry about yesterday."
Adrian lifted his head, he looked me down slowly, a ghost of a frown appearing on his face before meeting back to my eyes. "Are you?" He asked. God, i've never had to apologise to anyone before aside from a High One or a training instructor. "When i made that comment yesterday, as you walked into the room, i guess i didn't think of how much it would offend you." He raised his left eyebrow sightly. "I swear it wasn't completely aimed at you." I didn't know what else i could say in that moment. "Offended? With weak comments and a low profile like yourself you really thought you could offend me? I barely even know your name." His rosey lips curled into a smile as his expression changed to one that screamed 'are you joking?'. I should have kept my mouth shut instead of lower myself to this prick.
"How can something be not completely aimed at someone? Are you that confident to think i'd believe you?" He laughed. An exhaled laugh left my lungs, shocked at what i was hearing. Disgust slowly crept onto my face. "I don't even know why you're fucking talking to me." Flames of anger brewed in my body, my fingers twitching at the chance to get the knife out of one of my bracelets and decapitate him slowly; Painfully. Not offended? This guy was being way too defensive. I must have shattered his ego. I also began to laugh and i was holding up my character pretty well, it seemed Adrian was falling for it. "It's ok, i saw how your face turned like you were about to throw yourself out the window at my words. You don't have to act big and tough, boy." I mockingly replied after a few moments of consideration.
He moved his seat back with force and faced me like he was ready to punch me. Eyes colder and wider than a rabid dog. I liked this challenge. "If you're gonna kill each other, please do it in another room." Steven announced from the front of the class, watching us and distracting us from our little quarrel. Glad he did, otherwise i would have happily killed him if it went any further. Perhaps we were disturbing the class the louder our voices got because a few people were watching us, entertained by all of it.
'Little do you know...' I thought as a smirk appeared on my face as i thought about the end goal of my mission. "It's been a pleasure." I say to Adrian as he stands up from his chair and storms off to another desk across the room. He trudged past everyone and sat beside one of his friends. Off on a tantrum i supposed. The door to the room opened as a girl walked in, her long black hair reflecting the dim lights on the ceiling and her matching set of hooded black eyes warmly looked around. "Hey, Steve. I've finally completed that assignment for you." She placed a large black folder onto his desk and his eyes lit up. "This took you a while, huh?" He replied softly. She nodded her head, laughing at the statement and sighing with relief. "You only asked me to do it 7 months ago." Sarcasm ringed in her voice as she acted as if it was a piece of cake.
"Thank you, Chen. I'll look at it later for you." Steven chuckled as she spun around and made her way over to the back of the room where i was. Over to where i was. The newly empty seat next to me was free as the rest of the room was pretty much full, humming with conversations of all the students. "Hey, can i sit here?" I gave her a small smile, 'Play the part', I told myself. "Yeah of course, this seat just opened up. A certain someone just raged his way out of it, so it's all yours." Damn, that's was smoother than i thought. Atleast it's only getting easier. She raised her perfectly shaped eyebrows, "Oh is that what all the commotion i heard was in the corridor? Is it too far to guess it was Adrian?" God, i didn't realise we were that loud. But i was surprised when she guessed his name right.
