Chapter 2: Turned

(A few weeks later at the hospital, it's now evening as sonic begins to slowly wake up from his sleep and realizes that he's at the hospital. When he looks to his left he sees Amy fast asleep in a chair next to his bed with a book in her hand.)

Sonic: "How long has she been waiting here?" He wonders, feeling guilty for being a burden to her.

(Her eyes begin to open. Their hearts skip a beat as their eyes meet for a second time. She blushes and she quickly hides her face with the book and he looks away also blushing. He clears his throat and is about to say something when he suddenly feels a chill, looking to the window he sees a shadow dart out of sight)

Amy: "Um, a-are you cold? I can close the window if you want." She asks shyly.

(That her and chalks the strange shadow he had seen as a result of the pain medication causing him to hallucinate.)

Sonic: "Uh, sure. Thanks." He says with a smile.

Amy: "Alright." She says as she gets up to close the window while still hiding her face with the book. "So... How are you feeling?" She asks as she sits down.

Sonic: "I've been better." He jokes. She laughs and places the book on the table beside her. "I'm sorry about what happened that night." She says looking him in the eyes. "That guy... Who was he?" He asks. (amy looks out the window and sighs, closing her eyes as she does this)

Amy: "The guy that sent you here... his name is Shadow. Please don't hold it against him. He's just very overprotective of me. He thought you were going to do harm to me and acted on instinct. I'm sorry." She says sadly. He looks at her and smiles.

Sonic: "No. I'm sorry. It was my fault. If I hadn't been... It was all just a misunderstanding. I get it." He says looking away.

Amy: "Shadow wanted me to tell you that he's sorry about what happened. He feels bad about what he did." She shows him the paper he wanted to return to her and smiles faintly.

Sonic: He looks unconvinced "But did he REALLY say that?"

Amy: She looks away as she holds her arm and sighs "No...." She looks back at him with a smile "Thank you for returning this to me." She looks at her phone. "By the way what's your name? I didn't get it the last time we met." She asks, looking up at him.

Sonic: "I'm Sonic. Sonic the-DOH!" He winces. Still a little hurt. He chuckles.

Amy: She giggles. "Well, Sonic. I'd tell you my name but you already know what it is from the paper." She says looking at her phone again. "It's getting late. I should get going. . I'll pay you a visit again soon, sonic." She says as she waves to him. His heart skips a beat when she says his name.

Sonic: "See you at work... Well... When I'm better anyways." He says.

Sonic: "Night!"

Amy: "Night!"

(They both say in unison and laugh ...Later that night (3:15AM)... A shadow creeps over the blue hedgehog, it's glowing eyes are the color red and it's fangs unsheath and glisten white from the pale full moon shinning in through the once closed window. The blue hedgehog's eyes tiredly open but widen as fear fills them. He realizes that he can't move or speak and looks the figure in the eyes just as he does this the figure smiles and let's out a bone chilling laugh before descending a pawn him, mouth opened wide as the fangs sink deep into his neck, sucking hungerly at the warm blood beneath the flesh. His body jerks at the sinsation before going completely limp. His vision begins to fade as his eyes slowly close. After some time the figure stands up right and cuts one of it's fingers, allowing a few droplets of it's own blood to drop into the blue hedgehog's mouth. The blood slides down his throat and his heart begins to glow a faint purple color and begins to beat abnormally fast. His upper canines becoming long and sharp. His finger nails also becoming long and sharp. His ears become long and pointed at the tips. And all of his injuries and broken ribs have all healed. The shadow leaves the newly turned blue hedgehog and disappears out the window. Moments later a nurse comes in to check on her assigned patient. She shivers and notices that the window had been opened and goes to close it and locks it. She then goes over to the blue hedgehog and checks his vitals. The sound of the nurse's heart beat wakes him from his sleep as his eyes shoot open revealing red glowing eyes. Her scream is cut short as fangs sink into her neck. He pulls her onto his bed as she struggles against him before succumbing to the blood loss and she dies. The blue hedgehog licks the remaining blood from her neck and sits up feeling very satisfied, he looks around the room as if in a daze and his usual self returns, his once red eyes going back to green. His eyes widen with horror as he finds the nurses still corpse laying on his bed, pale and lifeless eyes full of fear before she died. He jumps from the bed and finds that his injuries have completely healed. He feels different, stronger even. He is about to leave out the window but winds up slipping, the blood soaked gloves being the cause of it but finds that he's floating in mid air. He shakes his head hoping that everything was just a nightmare. But he soon realizes that it wasn't a nightmare and that he's wide awake. He disappears into the night, heading home as he gets there he lands and unlocks the door, and goes in shutting and locking the door behind him. Tears start to stream down his face and he holds his gloved hands out, the nurses blood reminding him of what he had done. Feeling his stomach turn he rushes to the bathroom, opens the toilet lid and emmediatly starts to vomit. Some time later he plops onto his bed and closes his eyes. His mind races as he remembers everything that took place that night. The shadowy figure that attacked him, the thirst that took over his mind, and finally the dead nurses corpse and the taste of her fresh warm blood)
