Days had passed since they had seen each other and Maya wasn't liking it. Either Carina was too busy with her job and came home tired or Maya was just in the same state. They did text a lot but it wasn't to Maya's liking. She got out of her office and straight to the beanery hoping Vic and Andy were there.
"Oh! Hi guys! I was actually hoping you girls were here because I want to talk to you all about something before I make a fool of myself.", Maya said gladly, making her way closer to the two girls enjoying their lunch during a conversation.
"Yes! What do you want to talk about?", Andy said, really wanting to know why Maya needed them, knowing Maya was the one to make good decisions on her own unless it was something she wasn't sure about. Both Vic and Andy give her their full attention.
"Actually not here.", said Maya looking around.
"How about at my house? I'll even get you take out or cook for you. I just really want to talk about this, now.", the fire captain said somewhat desperately.
" Alright, we'll be there after shift.", Vic said, nodding her head, Andy confirming her presence too.
"Thank you so much! I love you guys!" Maya said before making her way downstairs and locking herself in the office to continue on finishing her paperwork.

Andy and Vic knocked on Maya's door.
" You girls know you don't have to knock yah know", trying to make it seem obvious to her best friends.
As they had finished their dinner and the girls helped Maya clean up, they grabbed some dessert and made their way into the living room to now talk.
"So explain to us Maya, what is it that you want to talk about?", both girls knowing that it will take the blonde to start talking.
She took a deep breath and blurred it out, "I'm thinking of asking Carina on a date?".
The besties looked at each other in shock as to what the blonde just told them. Maya felt her cheeks heat up knowing she was blushing.
"Will you girls say something?! You are scaring me." said the blonde now covering her face and regretting what she just confessed to her friends. "You know what, nevermind." she said before she tried to make her way to the kitchen to grab something to drink before she choked on her dessert.
Suddenly she felt her friends pull her back onto the couch.
"Sorry I am just shocked all of a sudden." said Andy, with a surprised look on her face. " I mean first you don't want to come out of work anymore after what happened with your previous relationship shutting everybody down, saying "monogamy is for the week". We went to the movies on Vic's offer and you met this woman, took care of her, went to her house, poor basically your whole life to her in a matter of just a few hours after you just met, and texting everyday, to this?", she catches her breath before she keeps continuing. "I mean I don't see anything wrong in asking her on a date, although you still have me shocked that you are finally letting yourself lose without my help."
Andy has been closer to Maya since they met. Well not really. They first met in the Seattle Fire Academy being the only two women in the Academy. They knew this would happen, reason being, this job was built for men, but they both wanted to change that. Obviously Chief Ripely was going to pair them together for obvious reasons. The latina wasn't friendly at first with the blonde but knew if they were going to be partners for the rest of the time in the academy, minus well becoming friends at least. They did everything together: hang out, have sleepovers, exercise, made sure one another was doing fine, you name it. They built a strong bond that now former Captain Herrera accepted Maya like his own daughter as well.
