Jack chuckled as Raenna spilled her drink. She laughed, "Okay maybe balancing on one feet while drinking water is a good thing." She joked as she sat down.
"What did I say?" Jack teased making her flick a noodle at him. They shared a laugh as Raenna tried to dry her shirt off. "Yeah maybe I should listen to you more." She said with a smile.
He nodded and shrugged, "I am smart." "You mean a smartass. Yeah definitely." She said with a teasing smirk.
"Now why would you hurt me like that?" he joked making them laugh again. From an outsider's point of view the sight was refreshing.
Two young people falling in love with jokes and teasing. They can see it in their eyes, the appreciation and happiness. It was radiating of off them.
For others it were two people falling in love for the first time. Two young people with no worries in the world, just them. Nothing else important but the two of them.
Jack looked at her like she was the world. He knew and believed she was. She was light that he didn't extinguished or to be a part from. He would much rather stay. If he could stay, he knew he would. But only if she could.
Raenna watched him with a big smile. Nothing but happiness radiating off of him, it brought herself some happiness too seeing that she can make him smile and laugh like that. It was melting her heart everytime he smiles or laughs. Or the way he looks at her. She felt cared for, appreciated, listened to and even loved.
She wanted him to stay and if she could she would follow him. Wherever he would go but then again her parents were another story.
As Jack was finishing up his food, Raenna pulled out something from her pocket. Jack was telling her a story from an old lore stream when she gently grabbed his hand.
He looked at it then back at her. "Uh- Rae?" he asked. She smiled at him and wrapped a bracelet on his wrist, "This is to remember me by." She said.
"What? Rae you didn't have to." He said but watched as she delicately placed the bracelet on his wrist. "I wanted to. Just so you don't forget about me when you go home." She said.
He sighed and interlocked their fingers, "Why would I?" he asked. Squeezing his hand, she shrugged, "I don't know. We're gonna be miles apart, an ocean between us but still, I don't know. I'm not gonna forget about you so I hope you won't forget about me-"
"Rae... relax. I won't I promise." He said sending her a reassuring smile. "I just want to make sure that you won't. Cause you mean a lot to me Jack. Like a lot." She said.
He hummed and nodded, "You mean a lot to me too. You don't even know the half of it." He admitted.
Her cheeks felt warm and she just knew it was turning red. She hummed and pursed her lips, "I'm glad were on the same page." "There's no place I would like to be in."
