The pitter-patter of rain splattering and drumming against the window filled Hadrianus's ears as he slowly became aware of his surroundings. The child Naga inhaled deeply, loving the fresh smell of sodden earthy, and soggy leaves. Clearly, it had been drizzling for hours. Hadrianus twisted and turned, getting more comfortable in his cozy bed, and subconsciously smiled. Despite being the creature that thrives in warm weather, he had grown to love the rain.
After spending some time just enjoying the serene calmness and sound of nature, Hadrianus slowly started to gain more consciousness. His bladder started to protest against lying for a few minutes more, so he had to open his eyes. His room was dark, all the curtains were drawn close to not disturb his slumber. Wanting to see the view of their garden under the drizzling, Hadrianus stretched his heavy hands out and touched the wall, feeling the magic of their sentient Castle, and hissed out, ":Mother Castle, please open the curtains of my window.:"
Hadrianus felt Mother Castles answer in the form of a hug and relaxed in his bed. The soft ocean green colored curtains were opened with a soft swoosh, revealing the large pillows of tar-black cloud that had covered the sky. The sound of raindrops has faded into a musical chime.
Hadrianus lazily glanced at his chest, where he was hugging Mr. Blue that smelled like both father and mum. Absentmindedly noticing he is back to his half serpentine form, Hadrianus stretched his heavy tail out, trying to get the kinks out and the circulation started once again as he looked back at the panoramic window taking up an entire wall of his bedroom. Strictly speaking, it wasnt a window as such, but a complex enchantment that father did on both the Castle and Manor, as on the original design, the windows were too small for their taste. So father did it to provide a one-way view of the outside and make sure they never had to live in a dark gloomy place. According to his father, he had studied and copied such an enchantment from the walls of Slytherin House, so Hadrianus is lowkey looking forward to seeing it in his own eyes as well. He wondered how it would feel to observe the underground scenery of Black Lake and appreciate the underwater flora and fauna.
The bladder let its presence known again, forcing Hadrianus to leave both Mr. Blue and his warm and snuggly bed to slither across the room. Just as he quickly shifted to his human legs, because no, he refused to pee with the weird-looking genitalia that he has as the green mamba, and entered the bathroom, he felt mum quickly coming towards his room. Hadrianus freshened up taking his time after answering and asking his mum to enter when he heard her knocking on the bedroom door. Mum entered the room, then waited for him to come out. After he was satisfied, he returned to his room, feeling quite famished.
":Hatchling, how are you feeling?:" Nagini hissed, slithering towards him.
":Hey mum,:" Hadrianus stretched his spine and yawned, the tiny and newly growing teeth prominent in the front of the wide mouth.
":Awe, big yawn.:" Nagini noted with amusement, ":Bless you, my son.:"
":Thank you, mum.:" Hadrianus softly sniffled and rubbed his growling belly, ":I'm starving.:"
":I know you will be, I already have prepared a feast for you, follow me.:"
Hadrianus started to walk behind his mum, ":How long was I sleeping, mum? Where's father?:"
":About 40 hours. Your father has some meeting he can't avoid, he will be back soon.:"
":Okay,:" Hadrianus skidded towards the dining hall, going through one of the several secret tunnels and portals that Mother Castle has. He bounced to his seat, salivating at all his favorite food decorated deliciously on the table, and immediately started piling up his plate.
