Summer was slowly coming to an end. It was tough for some of the counselors. For many, this would be the last fun summer. Then, off to college and a career and whatnot.

It was bittersweet. Each day that passed by was nice, but it also was sad, knowing that one day it would all be over. That they would never experience this again.

Abigail was dealing with these emotions. She had anxiety for college. It was all new and she worried how she was going to fit in. She'd wanted a few friends before she went. That's the reason she came to the camp.

And it worked. She made a few friends. Emma, for one, was her 'best friend.' She always encouraged her to get out there and have fun. She knew she was going to miss her. She asked Emma for her number and wrote it down in her sketchbook so she could have it once she got her phone back.

It was nearly dark. Abi had gotten the rest of the day off, thanks to Emma. They were two counselors down so they had to work extra shifts. Emma and Abi often swapped shifts and it was nice. Mr. H didn't mind, as long as someone was working.

Abi was sitting on a log. From her seat, she could see the most beautiful sight. She had seen it a week or so ago on a hike with the kids. She knew she had to come back and draw it.

So she was. She was nearly done with the drawing. It was more of a sketch than an actual piece, though. Abi knew when she had more time she would draw this place again.

She was entranced with her work. So when she heard the snap of a twig, she jumped, looking to the source.

It was (Y/N). He was one of her closest friends. She honestly had a little crush on him. She knew if she told him, she would probably get rejected. "(Y/N)," She smiled. "Hi!"

(Y/N) waved at her. "Sorry for, uh, scaring you," He apolgized. He had seen her jump.

"Oh, it's nothing," Abi waved her hand, dismissing it. "Don't worry about it."

(Y/N) nodded. He continued what he was doing. He looked like he was searching for something.

"What are you doing?" Abi asked, confused.

"Oh! Isaac- you know Isaac?" (Y/N) asked and Abi nodded. "He lost his toy car while on our hike today. He's pretty upset... So I told him I'd find it for him."

"Aww..." Abi smiled. "That's really sweet."

"It's nothing," (Y/N) shrugged. He continued searching.

That's one of the reasons Abi liked him. He was so selfless. He was really sweet. Her first day here, she was nervous. Anxiety got the best of her, but... (Y/N) was there. And all he had to do was talk to her and she felt better.

"Do you need help?" Abi questioned.

"No, it's okay. It should be pretty easy to spot..." (Y/N) kept scanning the ground. "It's bright yellow. Pretty hard to miss..."

Abi looked, trying to find it. She spotted it, hidden by some branches. "There!" She pointed.

(Y/N) saw it and picked it up. "Yes!" He grinned. He looked so handsome... Abi had to shake that thought from her head. "Thanks, Abi."

"No problem," Abi replied, a faint blush on her cheek. Jeez, what was it about this guy that made her so flustered? She grabbed her pencil and continued working on her drawing.

(Y/N) was curious. He knew she could draw, but he'd never seen any of her work before. Other than the stuff from her classes, which were simple for the kids. "What are you drawing?" He asked.

"Oh, um..." Abi didn't expect him to ask. She thought he'd go back to Isaac. "Just... The view. It's really pretty here."

"It is," (Y/N) replied, looking at Abi. It crossed Abi's mind that maybe he was talking about her... but there was no way. "Can I see it?"

"Uh, sure," Abi was surprised. She was used to people not really caring, so this was a nice change of pace. She turned the sketchbook towards him so he could see it.

"Wow! That's really good, Abi!" (Y/N) grinned at her. He meant it, too. It was beautiful. "You're really good."

Abi knew she was blushing now. She could feel the warmth in her cheeks. "Thank you," She replied softly, biting her lip. She hated being so nervous...

But (Y/N) didnt seem to mind, if he even noticed. "I have to go, but..  Maybe you could show me some more of your work sometime?"

"Of course!" Abi said, a little too enthusiastic. She wanted to smack herself on the head. "That would be great!"

(Y/N) smiled softly. "Awesome. I'll see you around, Abi." He waved, jogging to go bring the toy back to Isaac.

Abi kept her gaze on him as she left. She felt her heart racing. She couldn't deny it any longer. It wasn't just a little crush. She was falling in love with him. She blinked a couple of times, thinking.

She was gonna have to tell Emma. If she didn't, Emma would find out anyways.
