2 days before the special day. (27th of July)

Art's Pov

Im on my way to Baguio Gen. Hospital not for my regular cunsoltation with Dra. Salazar. I was on a meeting when she called for an urgent reason. A reason she would not tell me on the phone.

So here I am. My heart is beating faster than it normally do. And obviously 'Nervous as hell'.

I take in a very deep breath before I knock on her clinic's door.

I open it right after I here someone said 'Come in'. I saw the doctor doing something on her computer, her office is a mess. Books everywhere, Cups of halfway done coffee on the corner.

'okay what the hell is happening here?'

"Hello there Arthuro. You're finally here." She stood up and gesture me to come closer.

I come near her.

"Look at this Arthuro you are in deep trouble." She is currently pointing on her computer screen.

"This is your brain MRI examination results.. The image here" she said pointing out the image on the side. "Is an image of your brain. And this little tumor here is the problem."

I breath out the breath I didn't realize I was holding while she is talking.

"Now about your case, you have Optic Nerve Glioma. That is the reason why you are experiencing several head aches for the past months."

I looked at her confused and open my mouth to speak but no words slip out.

"Optic Nerve Glioma is one of the low grade cases of brain tumor. It is named for its location on or near nerve pathways obetween the eyes and the brain."

" Optic nerve glioma is a rare kind of cancer, usually slow-growing and found in children. It is rarely found in individuals over the age of 20."

"In your case it is one of those rare cases that it happens in your age group. You are 26 at the time"

"Now Mr. Tan here are the symptoms" she sat down on her Chair then get a piece of paper in her drawer

"Ahem. You may take the seat in front Arthuro so we can speak comfortably here."

All along I didn't even speak a word. Im just listening to what she is saying.

I sat in front of her table staring on the floor.

"You will be experiencing several head aches. When time pass by it will be severe to the point that you need to take medications...

..progressive loss of vision and double vision."

"I understand that you are in a state of shock right now. So Im gonna say this once and for all, para isang bagsakan na lang." she laughed. An awkward one.

"You need to take immidiate treatment or your illness may affect your eye sight and can lead to a cancerous tumor that may cause your death."

After that terrifying news I immediately call Nick to inform him that we need to move fast.

'Everything is under control here. How may times do I have to tell you that? Dont worry too much, or you will end up uglier than you already is.'

I shake my head upon reading his message.

Cant help but smile. He really is silly. Just like my Lexi

No wonder they are the best of friends. And I'm glad they are just friends.
