Y/n's POV:

As we were walking I grew even more tired but I knew we were close
because my surroundings were getting familiar.
And eventually we cross the green bridge that connected the town and forest.

Realizing....

We walked through the night and made it back to Castile Rock a little past 5 o'clock on
Sunday morning, the day before Labor Day.
We'd only been gone for 2 days, but somehow the town felt different...
Smaller..

I was in between Teddy and Chris, next to Chris was
my cousin then followed by Vern.
We stopped somewhere on the road by the sidewalk once we made it into town.
Giving each each other a look of "this is it"
" Well, see you in school. "
Vern spoke up, his eyes squinting from the sunlight.
" Yeah "
Both Chris and Gordie agreed.
" See ya, Vern. "
I gave him a warm smile on my face, him
returning one.
I was exhausted, and pretty bummed that we all had to go home already and get ready for school.
" See you in junior high. "
Teddy added while a hopeful smile appeared on Vern's face, walking off to here I assume
his house was.
As Vern was crossing the road, he suddenly stopped and bent over.
What is he doing?
He picked something up from the ground and with a
wide smile on his face he said,
" Penny! "
He then walked off, seeing a smirk on each of their faces.
Ooohh Vern..
" Well guys, I- I gotta get home before my mom
put me on the 10 most wanted list. "
Teddy smirked, almost making me smile but I didn't want to leave Teddy yet...
He was about to walk off but I grabbed his arm pulling him back.
" Wait, I don't wanna go home yet.
Mind if I come with you? I'm still pretty thirsty. "
I asked, hoping he'd say yes.
I didn't wanna go home yet knowing my mom would beat my ass...
And I was indeed thirsty...
" No, not at all. "
A side grin on Teddy's face, i interlocked my arm around Teddy's right arm, oh and
I could tell
Chris and Gordie were smirking from behind
while I walked off with Teddy.
When he suddenly stopped.
???
He turned back around, as did I seeing both of the boys heads were down but soon lifted up
when,
" Hey, Chris. "
Teddy spoke, catching both of their attention.
" No hard feelings, okay? "
He continued.
" No way man. "
A re - assuring smile and nod came from Chris.
Noticed I haven't even said bye to
my cousin and Chris.
I took my arm out from Teddy's and ran forward,
giving them a group hug while they laughed.
" Thanks guys, for this weekend.
And for persuading me to come. "
I chuckled pulling away from the hug.
"  Yeah of course, Y/n. "
Gordie smiled as I stared walking off to Teddy.
" See you at school, Olsen. "
I looked back,
Chris smirking as he gave me a salut.
" See ya, Chambers. "
I saluted back, turning my head to see Teddy waiting for me.
" Come on. "
I beamed as I interlocked my arm back with Teddy's
and continued walking to his house.
Then Teddy started singing
The Ballad Of Paladin
as we got closer to where his house was.
Is he seriously singing that?
" His fast gun hire, heeds the calling wind.
A soldier of fortune, is a man called Pal-a-din "
" Ssssshhhhh... Come on,
let's go. "
I tugged on his arm, hearing him laugh.
" What? I thought you like my singing?? "
He felt offended.
" No I don't. "
I lied.
" Oh really? "
He taunted making me roll my eyes.
" Have gun will travel, reads the card of a ma- "
He sang his heart out at this point,
I bet the whole town could've even heard him.

Well??
Teddy does have a nice singing voice,
and before we'd sing along to the songs that would play on the radio.

" Okay Teddy, stop. It's getting annoying. "
I nudged him on the side.
" I'm not stopping! "
He laughed when he started to walk ahead of me still, singing the song.
And you know what, it almost looked like he was dancing but not really?
More of skipping and snapping along
to the beat.
How I miss this <3
" You are 5... "
I laughed adjusting my sleeping bag up.
But of course, he ignored and continued singing.
