chapter 9

Y/n pov

"Y/n where here. Wake up" i heard sirius say. I sat up and looked around at the three other boys.

"Please be careful y/n" Remus said next to me

"I'll try" I said. We all stood up and the boys said goodbye to each other. I gave them each hugs and me and sirius went to go find mum. Sirius walked I front of me the whole time making sure I was OK.

We finally found her and Regulus looked over at me. His eyes seemed to be full of guilt. Mum grabbed my arm and pulled me in front of sirius.

"Still alive I see. Pity" she said as she shoved me back towards sirius who took my hand and pulled me away from her. We walked to the carriage and I got in quietly. Sirius was forced to sit in the front near mum while I sat with Regulus. I looked out the window when I felt him tap my shoulder. I looked over and he passed me a paper. I opened up the folded note and read what it said:

Hey y/n

I wanted to send this to you at hogwarts but mum threatened to read it so I didn't. I'm so sorry about what I did over Christmas break. I didn't know what she would do. I shouldn't have done it either way. I'm guessing by the lookyiu gave me after you got cursed you thought I was happy. I wasn't. I was screaming at her to stop and she wouldn't. I tried to stop her but she told me I was being soft. If I ever do something like that to you again it was because mum makes me. I'm so sorry. I hope you can forgive me in someway.

From Regulus

I looked over at him. He gave a small smile. I gave one in return. He stuck out his hand for a handshake and I shook it. We then both looked out our windows the entire ride home.

Sirius pov

I saw Regulus pass y/n a note during the ride. It was a pretty long note. When she was done Regulus gave her a smile and she returned it and they shook hands. I don't know what to think about this. Is he actually being nice or is this some scheme to get her to trust him. Whatever.

We got home and kretcher got our bags. Bloody house elve is ridiculous. Me and y/n went to go to our room when mum stopped her.

"No no. Your coming with me for a welcome home surprise" she said

"No she's not." I said putting my arm infront of y/n.

"Yes! She is. If you don't move you'll get a surprise as well" she said with a fake smile plastered on her face.

"We are not listening to you. You hurt her and should be in Azkaban"

"Oh so she told you. How... sweet. Regulus how about you go up to your room. Please." She said with an insane look in her eyes.

"No" he said. He stood infront of us

"What did I say about interrupting my conversations. Go." But he stood there. "Fine. Kretcher get this boy out of my sights" kretcher then pulled him away while Regulus tried fighting him off.

"Alright now come with me you two." She said grabbing a torch from the wall. "Let's get this out of the way now" she lit the torch and walked towards the family tree room dragging us behind her. She threw y/n to the floor and me into the wall. She took the torch and put it near my name. She them lit it on fire. I watched as my picture became one of the many dark burned spots on the tree. She did the same with y/ns.

"Now then" she started. She grabbed a chair and my arm. She sat me in the chair and tied me there. "Let's get this shown on the road shall we." Y/n back away into the corner. "Crucio" y/ns screams echos through the room. Mum seemed to enjoy this. I was trying my hardest to get out of the chair. Y/ns pained screams made my heart shatter. I started screaming and crying at the sight of her in this much pain. I was screaming stop at mum. This went on for around ten minuets. She finally stopped and let lose the ropes and walked out. I pulled the ropes off of me as fast as possible and ran over to her. I kneeled next to her and brought her closer to me. I looked at her and she was unconscious. I saw  tears still rolling down her cheek. I sobbed in to her shoulder while holding her close to my chest.

"Y/n p-please w-wake up. I n-need yo-you. C-come back" I cried my voice shaky. I held her for hours hoping she'd wake up. I fell asleep crying and holding her next to me.

"Sirius?" I heard y/n whisper near me.

"Y/n! Oh merlin your awake. Your alive!" I said jumping up. She smiled weakly at me. I sat her up against the wall. I sat next to her.

"Why are you crying" she asked quietly.

"Nothing. Don't worry about." I said "are you ok? Anything hurt?"

"Everything hurts but I'm doing alright" she said.

"Can you stand up"

"Uh I can try"

"Ok" I stood up and held out my hand. She took it and I pulled her up. I wrapped my arm around her back to steady her. She put her arm around my shoulder.

"Alright let's head upstairs." I said. She nodded and we headed towards the stairs quietly and walked up the stairs to our room. I sat her down on her bed and started unpacking both of our bags.

"It hurt" she said softly. "A lot" I sat down next to her. "Its Indescribable pain. Makes you feel as you don't know where you are or who you are. Brings back bad memories and makes you question everything" tears started rolling down her face. I felt tears rolling down my own face. I instantly pulled her into a hug. She sobbed into my shoulder and I held her tight.

"Everything's going to be alright. I'm here. I'm going to do anything I can do to keep you away from her. I promise. " I said rubbing her back. I pulled out of the hug. "Let me finish unpacking everything ok? You sit here  and I'll unpack everything. Alright" she nodded and I got up and started unpacking. I grabbed her book and passed it to her.  She smiled and wiped her tears and started reading.

[A few weeks later]

I heard a tap on the window and saw Remus's owl. Y/n had just come back from another Cruciatus Curse session with our mother. She was still asleep so opened the window to get the letter.

Dear sirius and y/n

I'm at James house right now and me and James want to get you out of that house. We're are planning on coming to get you in a few day. Pack everything you need and we'll see you soon.

From Remus.

I looked over at y/n and back at the letter. I quickly packed everything up and put it near our window. I know if y/n was here longer than a two weeks she wouldn't be doing well. This was the best way to keep her safe and get her away from mum.
