Chapter 6

The crowd gasped. "WHAT!" Blister roared. Arid took pleaser in the angry look in her mother's eyes. She smiled softly. 

"You've hurt me and my friends' for too many moons now. Choose the location and let's get this over with." 

Blister's eyes narrowed. "If that's how you'd like it then- Fine!" 

Blister stalked off her throne and to the window. She launched into the air, Arid and most of the crowd following. 

Arid looked down upon the kingdom. Hopefully HER future kingdom. If I survive... she thought in the back of her head. Quit it, don't think like that... she scolded herself. She turned her gaze back to the ground. The palm tree's swaying in the soft breeze. The sun shining brightly. As they landed in the courtyard, Arid took her place in the center. 

"Prepare to die..." Blister snarled. "Hurry up you one eyed pieces of camel spit!" Blister snapped. to the guards. 

Bonfire looked on nervously from the stands. Arid looked around and noticed that this was the same courtyard that Blister had killed Blaze and the dragonets of destiny. The sand beneath her talons felt a bit clumped from blood that had dried there. A slight breeze started to blow as one of the guards flew up to the platform. "Claws ready, fire burning, tails up, FIGHT!" 

Blister leaped at Arid, missing her by half a talon. Arid ducked under Blister, sliding underneath her. She dug her claws under Blister's soft underscales. Blister roared in pain and fury. 

~THE GENERAL'S POV~

I know what to do... All I have to do is sneak down and dig it up...  The general snuck off the ledge, the fight raging in the background. Her turned his head. Princess Arid was losing... She had a deep wound in her neck and was bleeding very badly. She looked like she was about to pass out. 

Her lover was digging his claws into the seats, terrified for her life. He continued to stalk too the remains of Queen Oasis. He dug quietly, hoping not to be seen. Blister's back was toward him. He finally found it. The eye of Onyx. He had done hours of research and discovered that only a worthy female could become the next queen. He lifted it into the air. 

"Hey Blister!" He yelled.

Blister's head immediately turned around and her eye's widened. "The eye of Onyx..." He heard her whisper. 

She immediately leaped for it, dropping Arid on the ground. The minute Blister's talons touched it, she started to lash on the ground. It looked as if she was trying to scream but not a sound came from the evil queen. She puffed into a black cloud of ashes. 

Everyone started to clap, shouting, 

'All hale queen Arid!'
