Lytherium, Year 1298 B.E. (Before Erika) Adrian's POV
"Your Majesty, I do not mean to intrude but His Highness Alexi of The Arathian Republic is here"
I nodded "Of course Bring him in" He nodded curtly and shut the door to my study abruptly
Everything around me was moving at the speed of sound it seemed, I had a meeting with my brother over borders near the gulf and then I was to be whisked off to my suit fitting for the ball tonight and the wedding tomorrow, It all was stressful.
The door opened and my brother walked through the door in his black plated armor, a blue cape fastened at his shoulders with a thick band of black metal around his forehead
"Good afternoon King Adrian" he spoke with a small bow
"Hello Brother" I spoke and stood to shake his hand, he gripped my hand tightly and shook it firmly, I could feel my bones pop slightly under his grip
"You've gotten stronger I see" I chuckled
He nodded with a smile and we both sat down, he crossed his right leg over his left and set his hands folded neatly on top of his kneecap "So,"
"So what?" I inquired
"The borders? What is wrong with them?" Alexi asked bluntly
"Oh, the borders, well you see, there is nothing wrong with them," I said softly avoiding eye contact
I could hear the less than audible sigh of annoyance in Alexi's throat "You mean to tell me, that you called me here for nothing under the guise of border patrols?!"
"No, it's not that I just didn't know how else to get you to come here," I said as he rest his head in his hand
"What do you mean how else" he scowled at me
"Well, you see, there is to be a ball tonight and I wanted you to be here," I said
"A Ball? for what exactly?" his eyes narrowed at me
"Well, I- you see dear brother, I am getting married tomorrow, The ball is to celebrate my engagement," I said
Alexi looked at me and abruptly stood to leave "A wedding ball Adrian? That's why you summoned me here?"
"I am sorry to have deceived you dear brother but you never answer my letters and I had no other option outside of riding to your kingdom" I spoke following him to the door
He turned to look at me a frown present on his face "All you should have done was tie a black ribbon around the scroll then I would have answered right away. you should not have lied to me"
"I didn't mean to Alexi I swear it!" I said grabbing his shoulder "Please stay. Please brother It would mean the world to me if you did"
Alexi sighed and his face softened "Alright Brother, but no more tricks after this night, If you need me here and it is urgent say so in the first place alright?" He asked looking at me directly in the eyes
I nodded and motioned for him to follow me, We exited the room and walked down the corridor, I stopped at the open doors to the seamstress finalizing the wedding gown Elyssia was to wear, she was zoned out looking out the window, I whistled in her direction "Isn't she Lovely Alexi?"
Elyssia turned and looked at us both, her eyes went directly to Alexi before looking at me, her eyes duller than stormclouds
"thank you your majesty but I feel like a pincushion," she said as the seamstress poked her with her needle
"Please Elyssia, How many times do I have to remind you, It's Adrian" I spoke before placing a kiss on her cheek in front of everyone
"If you say so Your Majesty- I mean Adrian" she stuttered with uncertainty
