One a.m., crickets can be heard, a soft wind is blowing, the streets are empty and the scent of blossoms blooming heals and calms the soul.
Wooyoung once again stepped outside to take a walk after another difficult encounter with his parents. He hasn't been "home" for a year and he couldn't be happier about it. He loved being far away from his parents.
His parents weren't good parents, you couldn't call them even okay parents, not even parents at this point. As a young kid Wooyoung had gone through so much that his brain blocks any memory of what happened, even the good ones because they don't overweight the serious things. His parents had always been mean and unloving. They always fought with one another, blaming him for every tragedy that happened, blaming him if they weren't lucky and didn't get promotions. Even when he was little and had a really bad flu they didn't care about him and just left to work like usual, leaving him alone. Luckily he wasn't too weak and he was able to get better with time. He had to steal to eat or if he was lucky he would find some leftovers from his parents. When he started going to high school, he started working and he even went back to people he stole from to pay back for every stolen bite. He also studied really hard and he himself had to pay for his equipment to study. All textbooks, pens, pencils, books and even a table and a chair for himself in a house. Of course the table he bought to study at home ended up in a living room for his parents to put drinks on it. He thought he couldn't have a good future. After all he heard it everyday. And he definitely felt every word and even had memorized everything by the time he has reached tenth grade. Every scar, bruise or a little scratch left from past and present - he knew what his parents told him at that moment. He was hurting insides for nineteen years. But his spirit was strong, his need and motivation to become better and reach higher won over all the trouble. He worked hard and after twelfth grade he moved out of Wando to Seoul. And he couldn't have been better since then except the daily dose of his parents calls and messages. It gets to him sometimes and he can't help it. He himself tried to put a wall between them but that wall seems invisible to his parents now that he has made a living. It has been around three years since he left and he has been living the life he wanted almost to the fullest. Just that he had to go back to town to pick up his left over stuff and deal with left business there.
Wooyoung was walking around the neighborhood he lived in. The lights of all houses were turned off and only some of the houses porch lights turned on because of the movement. It was really calm and so.. free, if it makes sense. His daily walk of just him, music and no other but Loki, his Australian Shepherd. The dog at this point would be considered an emotional support animal. Loki is two years old and is so playful but knows that when they go on a walk late at night he must be calm.
The two have reached a park where Wooyoung loves to sit and just pass the time there. He has his bench where he always sits, his paths he walks through each night. It's like this place at night is his. Loki slowly leads the way to the bench already knowing they will go there either way. Wooyoung slowly walking behind him, enjoy the weather and the cool breeze. As soon as they reach their bench Loki jumps on it, lays down and soon after Wooyoung sits next to him. Aussie puts his head on his friends lap and as well just enjoys the calm time.
It was around four a.m. when they finally got back home. Wooyoung had calmed down and now couldn't wait to get into his warm bed and get the really needed few hour sleep.
