"Carly, wait!" Lisa screamed at me.

I ran down the stairs and flew the front door open. This man was stalking my house, stealing my best friend's attention, and now my personal confidential letter from Josie. I was furious as I marched down the sidewalk in slippers and a nightgown, going towards the man.

Lisa and everyone else was trying to tell me to come inside, but my mind was too focused on harming this man that I didn't even interpret what they were saying. Nobody knew what was going on, and they weren't going to. This wasn't going to turn me into a creep either. The man remained in his position, thinking that a girl in a bunny-nightgown and slippers won't hurt him.

Oh boy, was he wrong.

"Excuse me sir, but that is my letter." I told him calmly.

He looked at me and said, "Is this Carla Merriam Sosobella?"

I looked at him straight in the eyes and said "Yes sir" with annoyance. "That's my letter there and it would be a delight if you gave it back." I said.

The man still didn't move. I could hear Lisa say behind me in the doorway, "She just whipped out her country accent, and she's really angry."

Lisa couldn't be more correct. I felt like a bull ready to fight. I grabbed the letter from the man's hand and threatened him.

"You need to get out of this vicinity or I'm calling the cops." I told him with confidence.

The man then moved forward, about to grab me when I punched him in the face.

"You and your people have no right to harm me for something I didn't do." I said with my teeth together. My expression was sour as lemons.

The girls behind me gasped as I dragged the man down the sidewalk. I threw him into Vicky's front yard and stormed off.

Kim looked at me with disgust. My blond hair was all messy and my eyes were full of hatred.

Leslie grabbed my arm. I flung out of her grasp. I had the letter to Josie in my hand, and that's all that mattered. I had a feeling that these people wanted to learn more about my house so they can sabotage it. I went upstairs with everyone behind me. I sat down on a chair and ran my hands through my hair, ready to tell a story.

"So this has been going on and you don't bother to tell me?" Belinda and Leslie say at the same time.

"Yes, because I never had time like this to tell you guys." I replied.

Lisa looked at me with solemn eyes. "Carly, you have to be more careful."

Lisa was right, like always. I knew I wasn't right in the head when I did it, but I had to. For some reason, I felt safer, now that I knew I could defend myself. I really didn't know how easy it was. Now was the time to open the letter and read it to everyone.

Dear Carly,

I can't believe that happened! To be honest, I feel terrible I didn't warn you. I knew this was going to happen, but I didn't know when. I didn't want to worry you because you probably would of moved out by the time it happened. I'm so sorry.

"Why didn't she tell me!" I said with rage. I was so angry! She should have warned my family!

"There has to be a reason behind it, so keep reading." Kim said, becoming impatient.

I kept on reading.

You are probably really mad, but there is a reason behind it.

Kim nudged Belinda with a smirk and said "I told you so." I glared at her.

"Keep on reading!" Lisa said.

Carly, I know you are a brave girl, and please do me a favor- keep me updated, because I can help. I just need to know what's happening. The reason is that when we built this house, a construction worker accidentally fell down in the house's foundation. He was covered in cement and died. Unfortunately, he was a very rude and mean construction worker, and he was known for revenge. He always moaned, wanting to be let out, but nobody listened. Apparently he decided to get revenge at this time at your family. I don't know why, but he did. When John and I found out, we knew we could only live there for a certain amount of time before he could harm our family. We were thinking of the worst back then. After we moved, we probably didn't think it would ever happen. The story was at the back of our minds, long forgotten until I read your letter. Your letter sparked a memory! John told me the way you can fix this is to listen to us. I know you were a very good friend in not letting him out to harm your best friend, but remember, he is a spirit, and he can't harm anyone but the people who live inside his dwelling. I have to say, I think it was a mazing that you sacrificed your well being to protect your friend. Very gallant. Your friend should be lucky to have you as a neighbor and friend.

Lisa's eyes filled with tears. "You did that for me and didn't tell me?"

I thought about that for a moment and said, "Yes Lisa, I did. I can never make up for what you did for me in second grade." Lisa smiled.

"What happened?" Kim asked Leslie. "Dude I'll tell you later." Leslie replied.

Now listen, write me as soon as possible. I need to know more before I spill out the solution. Good luck!

Sincerely,

Josie and John

This was crazy. Josie might be able to help me solve this problem! Belinda was had her mouth gaped open and Leslie was picking at her fingernails.

"Lisa, would you mind telling us what happened in second grade?" Kim said, seeming curious.

"Well somebody gave her a wedgie and I decided to give that kid a smack in the face. That resulted in me going to the principal's office." Lisa said meekly.

I smiled. I remember that day like yesterday.

"Man you guys have gone a long way." Belinda said.

I had only known Belinda for few years, Kim for my life, Lisa since I was a baby, and Leslie since I was eight. My friendships were pretty strong. Now, I was thinking about what would happen if my parents found out about me punching that man. Would they be proud or horrified? I wonder what was going to happen to him. He did pass out after I threatened him, but I don't know why. I was so tired all of a sudden that I slowly fell asleep. I remember closing my eyes seeing Lisa looking out the window.
