"Does he know?" You asked your friend who laughed.
"Yes. He knows and that's the only thing, otherwise it is a traditional blind date."
"This is so not traditional." You sighed and she drove you after helping you pick out your clothes, and doing your hair and makeup.
"Here we are, come on."
"I can manage, straight out the door?"
"Table for two, Kendall. The waiter will escort you."
"Alright." I closed the door and slowly walked in, feeling nervous.
"Miss?" A voice asked and I faced the voice, "How may I help you?"
"Oh, table for two. Kendall."
"Shall I escort you?" The voice said after clacking away on his computer.
"Yes, please." I nodded and was led to a table when another voice spoke.
"Oh, I've got it."
It was a wonderful sound, nice and rich and I wanted the voice to keep talking.
"Here you go." He said and I could hear his smile in his voice as he helped me into my seat.
"Chris, yeah?"
"That's right. Y/N?"
"Mmhm."
"I can already tell you have something to say."
"You knew that you would be going on a date with a stranger, and agreeing to that itself is pretty open of you, but I know you knew you were going on a date with a blind person and yet you still said yes. Why?"
"I thought it was ironic and better for my case."
"Ironic? Your case?"
"I'm not unattractive, but there are plenty of more attractive guys than me. I mean this is a blind date, I find it ironic you're actually blind." He chuckled, "I don't mean to offend you."
"You didn't." I laughed, "I like how honest you are."
And dinner went on like that. Swapping stories about ourselves and family.
"How did you become blind?"
"Oh, um, I was a rebel kind of kid and in chemistry I decided I didn't need goggles, I mean the teacher told us what would happen, but I didn't believe it. So I was doing my thing in class and got some chemical in my eye."
"Wow, sorry."
"Don't say that." I laughed.
"What about eye surgery?"
"I don't have that kind of money, neither does my family. I don't mind I've adapted."
"It's getting late, let me take you home." He said softly and I let him guide me.
4 Months Later
"Come on!" Chris helped me out of the car excitedly.
"Where are we?" I laughed, the last three months had been truly amazing with Chris, he made me feel normal. We entered a well air conditioned building and he made me sit in a hard plastic chair.
"Just wait." He left me and I let my feet tap, playing with my hair, "Alright, you didn't eat or drink right?"
"You told me not to." I nodded and he sat beside me.
"Y/L/N, Y/N?!"
"Are we in a clinic?"
"Yep."
"Why?"
"You'll see, and thank YouTube."
"What?" I let him lead me and a cool unfamiliar hand guided me saying she was my nurse and weighed me and checked everything before helping me onto a bed with crinkly paper, "Chris? What is this?"
"Miss Y/L/N, I'm doctor Landly and I'll be in charge of your procedure."
"Procedure?" I asked.
"This is a surprise." Chris said and the doctor chuckled.
"Quite the boyfriend you have. Just relax, you'll see what's up in a little while."
"I don't understand-" I felt a quick pain and suddenly I was fast asleep.
"Miss? How do you feel? Can you hear me? Open your eyes?" The same nurse spoke.
"I'm fine, my eyes are open."
"No they aren't." She laughed.
I tried blinking and immediately closed them, "Ah!"
"You're still too sensitive. Let me wrap them." She sat me up and wrapped my eyes.
"Why was it so bright?"
"Well you had vision revival surgery."
"What? Who paid?"
"Two different names. A Kendall and YouTube."
"Can you take me to my boyfriend."
"I am now." She helped me into a wheelchair and I was helped into a car and closed the door after saying thank you.
"I can't believe you." I whispered.
"Do you think it worked? Are you mad?"
"Far from mad, I just can't believe you did that. I love you, you know that?"
"I know."
1 Week Later
"Ready?"
"Yes, carefully Chris." I was sat on Chris's lounge and he began to unwrap my eyes after he had turned off the lights. As soon as it was off I blinked and the world slowly, but surely came into focus and I felt tears prick my eyes, I whipped around to look at Chris and he smiled hopefully.
"Can you see me?"
"Yes, I thought you said you were no where near attractive as loads of other guys."
"That's true."
"Liar. Thank you." I hugged him and kissed him and he smiled.
"I just wanted you to experience everything with me."
"I can't wait."
