~ Chapter 8 ~

The Kiss

"And it's this brown house on the right." I informed Mrs. Horan, pointing out the window to my house. She pulled into my driveway and parked the car. "Well it was a pleasure to meet you Summer, honey." Mrs. Horan said turning around to look at me in the backseat.

"It was a pleasure to meet you too Mrs. Horan." I said, relieved to finally be home, as I opened the car door.

"Why don't you help Summer get all her things together." Mrs. Horan asked Niall. With that, Niall got out of the car and helped me out. He grabbed my backpack from the trunk of the car and helped me put it on, just as my mom used to do when I was in kindergarten.

I took off the scarf Niall let me borrow and wrapped it back around his neck, just as he had done to me about twenty minutes ago.

Before I walked up to the door to my house, Niall stopped me abruptly by placing his hand on my left shoulder.

"Summer, look!"

I spun around, examining the sky and noticed it was beginning to snow, the first snowfall of the year!

"It's beautiful!" I said to Niall as I continued to look around with my mouth wide open, amazed, like I had never seen a single snowflake in my life.

"But it's not as beautiful as you." Niall said looking me straight my eyes, like he had done when I had first met him in the library.

He leaned in to kiss me right smack on the lips. Putting my arms around his neck, Niall wrapped his around my waist.

When our moment, which seems to last an eternity, ended, he asked, "Um...I know this is all, uh, sort of sudden and all since we just met, but uh, would you like to be my, uh," He took a slow, deep breath, our eye still locked to together, "girlfriend?"

I was still trying to process in my mind what had just happened.

I thought about what Niall just asked me. It was not that hard of a decision, so I answered him, "Of course I would Niall, of course I would!" I hugged my new, to be called 'boyfriend', goodbye. With a smile from ear to ear, I ran up to my front door, walking into my house, making sure to wave a sweet goodbye to Niall.
