Dear readers,
Not even this author could have foreseen how much more interesting this season would get. It seems that not one but two Bridgerton brothers may be tied down this season, for Mr. Benedict Bridgerton has bested his brother in capturing the attention of one Miss Asturias. One can only imagine the glares that passbetween brothers now.
Will the Queen soon name her diamond so the Viscount may finally find his viscountess?

Benedict awoke still abuzz from the thrill of the night before. He certainly had no regrets about his choices... but that did not mean they did not have consequences.
He was grateful when Anthony was not present at the breakfast table, and no one else decided to press him about his dancing or his disappearance. It wasn't like he hadn't fled from balls before.
He was in his room polishing up a sketch he had been working on for the past few days when Colin came in.
"Up for a bit of fencing, brother?" he said, a mischievous smile gracing his lips.
"For you, always."
"Good," Colin said before exiting the room.
Benedict put a few more touches on his sketch and then got up and changed into his fencing clothes.
When he went outside, Colin was waiting for him... and so was Anthony.
"You tricked me, Colin!" Benedict whisper-shouted to his brother.
"I didn't not trick you. I simply... omitted certain information. By accident, of course."
"Right. By accident."
"Hello, brother," Anthony said to Benedict. "How about a spar with me?"
"Oh, no, I-" Benedict protested, putting his hands up and making faces, desperately hoping he could get out of this inevitable situation.
He looked at Colin, hoping for a bit of respite, but Colin just shrugged and gestured for him to do as their brother said.
"Alright," Benedict said with a sigh.
"Good," Anthony said. His face made it clear that this was far from good.
Benedict positioned himself in front of Anthony. Suddenly, his collar felt too tight, but he had no time to adjust it.
"En garde!" Anthony said before immediately launching into the match. Benedict just managed to block him. He needed to focus if he wanted to best his brother.
"So," Anthony said, "I noticed you dancing with Miss Asturias last night."
"It was a ball," Benedict said, taking a few steps forward. "I hear dancing is customary."
