(Your POV)

I've been with Tanjiro and his family for about two months now, but I need to leave. So far I mastered total concentration breathing and I've been working out consistently to get my stamina up.

Of course I've barely been sleeping with the amount of anxiety and stress I'm feeling but hey, you win some you lose some amirite?

These two months have flown by in all honesty. I've been thinking about how much I miss my family and my best friend Jayden. I wonder how they are all doing without me. I wonder if I'll ever see any of them again.

Tanjiro was extremely confused on why I was so adamant on working out, but eventually he let it go.

Kie is an absolute sweetheart. Every morning I wake up before everyone else to get all of the chores done. It's honestly shocking because I would never wake up early if it wasn't extremely important, but I guess this is quite literally a life or death situation so now isn't the time to have a fucked up sleeping schedule.

I got a job in town at a bakery so everything I earn goes back to help the Kamados. I even bought all of the children new clothes on my first payday! It was great!

Of course I realize that I can't stay here forever. I'm sure the Kamados are nice people but they probably think I've overstayed my welcome. I feel bad about it but I seriously didn't know where else to go.

But now? I'm going to find Urodaki. Of course I'll visit the Kamados before they inevitably die, but I need to get stronger in order to save a lot of the people in this story.

I finish packing the rest of my things which isn't much in my little tote bag that I came with. My phone and airpods were still intact and I could play music and read offline manga but that was about it.

Walking to the front of the house, I'm met with Tanjiro taking his shoes and haori off since he just got back from town.

(Tanjiro POV)

Tanjiro looks at you and smiles, but his smile quickly disappears as he sees your strange bag packed with all of your belongings.

Has he not made it clear that you are welcome to stay?

From the few broken conversations you had together, Tanjiro realized that you don't have anywhere else to go and that you won't be reunited with your family anytime soon. This saddened Tanjiro greatly, but he nor the rest of his family minded your company.

In fact, things had gotten better since your arrival. You pulled more than your own weight and always contributed in any way that you possibly could, even after Tanjiro and everyone else telling you it was unnecessary.

He considered you family at this point. At first you were shy and timid but after being surrounded by the family for no more than a week, you came out of your shell and communicated more- sometimes in English, the language he learned that you spoke.

"Gaia, where are you going?" Tanjiro asks anxiously, wondering where you could possibly be headed when you're still in the learning stages of Japanese and don't have any connections in this area.

"Mount Sagiri. I know someone there who can help me," Gaia responds, giving Tanjiro a small smile.

"You don't have to leave! You can stay here Gaia! We don't mind," Tanjiro offers, praying that you understood what he was trying to say.

You gave him a sad smile and shook your head. He could smell your anxiety and sadness, but he also sensed your determination. Whatever was on Mount Sagiri was something you were determined to find, and Tanjiro respected that.

Oh how he would miss you and his siblings waking him up with a pillow to the face, or you getting Hanako and Shigeru to eat their vegetables by feeding them with funny noises. He would miss how you and Nezuko styled each other's hair and got along perfectly. Most of all, he would miss you accompanying him into town and ascending the mountain every evening with you.

There was something about your presence that calmed Tanjiro. It told him that everything was going to be okay. Looking into your eyes made him forget all of his troubles, and your smile was oh so contagious and it made his day.

Of course Tanjiro was no idiot. He knew that he developed a crush on you. But there was nothing he could offer you. His family wasn't rich nor did he have a high paying job. Tanjiro wanted nothing more than your permission for him to court you, but he couldn't bring himself to ask.

It seemed like there was always something bothering you, but you refused to talk to anyone about it. Tanjiro felt bad because maybe you couldn't talk about it because of the language barrier. He would do anything to ease some of the anxiety you felt, but you never seemed to be outwardly bothered by it.

Finally coming back to his senses, Tanjiro looked at you and gave you a sad smile, knowing he was your last goodbye.

"The next time you see me, I'll have a harem Tanjiro," you teased.

Tanjiro was unsure of what you said, but the smirk on your face could only make him blush ten shades of crimson.

You quickly gave him a peck on the cheek before walking out the door and waving to him.

Tanjiro stood in shock as he touched the place where your lips had been.

"I think she would be an excellent wife and daughter in law," Tanjiro's mother quipped, coming up behind him and giving him a hug.

Tanjiro blushed even harder if that were possible and stuttered trying to deny his feelings.

"Is Gaia going to be our big sister for real?" Takeo asked, a light blush adorned his face.

Nezuko covered her mouth and laughed at the young boy who was hopeful that the cool woman who showed him how to do what they call "fortnite dances" would actually be his big sister one day.

"Guys cut it out!" Tanjiro said, not being able to take anymore embarrassment.

He quickly shuffled off to his room away from the stares and teasing from his siblings and mother.

He hoped that you would come back to him soon.

(Your POV)

Oh. My. Fucking. God.

I've been walking for hours and I'm exhausted. I can't stop for too long because if I do I'll be out here in the dark and we all know that's when the demons come out.

I want to get eaten out but not like that man.

I finally reach the place in the anime that shows where Urodaki lives and immediately fall to my knees.

I made it.

I lived bitches.

Although I absolutely loved meeting Tanjiro and his family, I'm ready to get out of here. Zenitsu had a point and I haven't even seen a demon yet. He had every right to be terrified because this shit is scary!

As soon as I heard footsteps I looked up and saw the man that I needed in my life.

Unfortunately, I used a lot of energy when maintaining total concentration so that I could reach this place before the sun went completely down, so my vision started to blur.

The only thing I could say before I went completely unconscious, and in Japanese might I add:

"Hey daddy"
