(3rd POV)

Urodaki ended up taking Gaia in. He was extremely confused on how the young girl knew he was a Demon Slayer despite barely understanding Japanese. He also found it strange that Gaia mastered total concentration constant with no prior training to his knowledge.

Of course he appreciated the girl being a hardworker. Gaia was eager to train and appreciated Urodaki's guidance.

Urodaki had started to become fond of the strange girl. She would do things that he didn't quite understand and always seemed to be talking in a different language. After a week of training, Urodaki made sure she got Japanese lessons everyday. That included writing which the girl was horrendous at.

Gaia tried her hardest to learn, but ultimately after two months she found herself only able to speak fluently as opposed to being able to write and speak. Eventually Urodaki figured it was good enough that she could communicate a little and decided to continue focusing on her training.

What he didn't expect however, was for her to be so quick with learning to the point where he didn't have anything left to teach her. The only thing she could do now was slice the boulder.

Final selection was in two weeks and Urodaki rested easy knowing that the girl wouldn't be able to slice the boulder by then. As much as he hated to admit it, he grew attached to Gaia and grimaced at the thought of her not surviving final selection.

(Gaia POV)

"Stupid! Fucking! Rock!" I yelled, banging my head against the boulder with each word.

I was flying through Urodaki's training, but this stupid boulder is going to be my downfall. If I can't slice this rock really soon then I won't be able to go to final selection and become a Demon Slayer before Nezuko becomes a demon.

I need to become a hashira soon so that I can protect the main characters!

"This is actually bullshit. How come I can't cut this fucking rock? Man where the fuck is Sabito when you need him?" I ask, getting frustrated.

"How do you know my name?" a voice asks out of nowhere making me jump.

"SWEET BABY JESUS DON'T SCARE MAMA LIKE THAT!" I yell, looking over at the source of the voice.

My blood ran cold as I looked over to find the peach haired boy staring at me, or I assume so. It's hard to tell with the fox mask on.

"You are not my mother," Sabito responds, tilting his head questioningly.

Ohmygod.

"YOU SPEAK ENGLISH?" I yell, running towards him to hug him.

Of course I was way too slow as Sabito dodges my attempt at physical contact and looks at me from the opposite end of the clearing.

Honestly, I'm just so happy that someone finally understands me. It's been so long since I've been able to hold a conversation in English with someone.

"I will ask once more. How do you know my name?" Sabito asks yet again.

Would it really matter if I told him. He's already dead. It's not like it would change anything significant. If anything, he could advise me on what I should do.

"I can tell you, but you're not going to believe me," I say, giving him a warning.

Sabito doesn't make any attempt to move or respond to my statement so I sigh.
