Chapter 4

(Note: The next few chapters will be made around Natalia and Nicole. Trust me you'll understand why🖤)

"Nicole! Natalia! Dinner is ready!" I called out to them

They both run in the dining room, Natalia was holding Nicole's hand as always. They've become inseparable in such a sort amount of time and Natalia is acting like a big sister to her and Nicole loves it!

Stella and my father in law have decided to break up and go to a lawyer to get a divorce after what happened and his past behavior of stalking his daughter. Stella can't stand to be in the same room as him anymore which is understandable since he was being absolutely rude to everyone that did not agree with him and speaking in such a disgusting way to his granddaughter about her late mom.

As I served the food on the table I heard the phone ringing.

"I'll go get it Mr. Brian!" Natalia said and was about to get up from her seat

"It's okay dear, I'll go, you two should start eating, I'll be right back" I said as I made my way to the living room

*Natalia's POV*

"Let's wait for your dad and we can eat all together" I said

"Yes, mommy said so too" Nicole said with a smile on her face

"M-mommy? Is she here?" I stuttered

I was used to Nicole bringing up her mom, well, my sister, and how she sees her every now and then. It does scare me a lot to hear about ghosts even though I know they don't exist. I mean, who wouldn't feel that way?

But I didn't want to tell her that they don't exist, I don't want to break her heart..

"She's right there" She said and pointed at the empty chair next to me like it was something very normal

I got goosebumps and felt a cold wave of air passing through me

"Um, yes you're right." I said

"You don't believe me?" Nicole's voice got very serious and her smile was replaced by a chilling look.

Her eyes were scanning my face like she was trying to see if I'm scared or uncomfortable. My hands were tightly gripped on the sides of the chair as I tried to smile at her. Today was something different. It was something I've never seen before.

"I believe you Nicole, mommy is here" I said trying not to get up and run to her dad for help

"Girls, why are you not eating?" He said as he walked in

Nicole's chilling facial expression went back to a happy one as she turned her head and faced her dad

"We wanted to wait to eat together" I said

"Aww isn't that nice of you two?" He praised us as he sat down to the chair next to me

Nicole's stared at him as if he had just committed the worst crime known to man

"What is it love?" He asked

Nicole did not make a sound, she did not protest or anything like that. She looked down on her plate and begun eating

*Brian's POV*

"Nicole is everything okay?" I asked

Natalia was looking at her and grabbed her hand "Do you want me to tell him?" She asked

"No! Leave me alone!" She slapped her hand away and run, knocking off things on the floor on her way to her room

"I seriously don't think things will get any better with Nicole.." I sighed

"She told me Diane was sitting there" Natalia said as she pointed on the chair I was sitting at

"Not this again.." I sighed "I really thought this wouldn't be an issue since she was just a baby when we lost Diane" I said

*Natalia's POV*

How do I tell this man that there's something more going on with Nicole? And if I do eventually tell him why would he believe me? He doesn't know me that well. Why would he trust a 13 year old kid?

But the way Nicole looked and talked to me wasn't normal for a 5 year old. And I'm scared of what's next..

We finished eating and after I helped do the dishes Brian gave me food for Nicole and I brought it to her room.

As soon as I entered her room I see her giggling and talking to herself. I slowly approached her

"Sorry to interrupt..but you didn't eat anything, and I dont want you to go to bed hungry.." I said

She turned to me and smiled

"Thank you Natalia!" Nicole said

She hugged me tight and apologized.
It caught me off guard

"Mom said I should treat you better because you're my family" She said

"It's okay!" I said

"My god! I really hope she will outgrow this "mom said.." thing soon. It really freaks me out!" I thought as I walked to the door

"I heard that."

I froze in my spot "What do you mean?" I replied

"It was not an accident.." Nicole said

"You're not making a lot of sense right now, you know that right?" I tried to remain calm

"Your family did it!" A different voice added to the previous statement

I grabbed the door handle and yanked the door open as I run out of the room.

What is going on in this house? Am I going crazy? Is Nicole just messing with me?

Aagh of course not, she's too young to know how to do that.

What did my family do? Was Diane's passing really not cause of natural causes? And why do I have to pay their mistakes??

"Everything okay?" Brian asked as he saw trying to catch my breath

"Yes, Mr Brian, I'm okay, we're just playing hide and seek and I'm trying to find a good hiding spot" I replied

"Okay, but not for too long, you should both be getting ready for bed soon" He said and went upstairs to his room

I don't know what Nicole is going to do but I'm not going back into that room!

I went to the kitchen to get some water. The entire house was very silent, I could only hear whispering from her room and I didn't want to know what was being said

I heard Nicole approaching "Natalia? Where are you?" She asked

I rushed to close the kitchen light and hid under the table in complete darkness. I tried not to make a sound

It did not work though, I suddenly found myself being dragged back into the bedroom, I could not scream, I could not ask for help..

That wasn't Nicole I was seeing.....
