Fortuitous - 01

A lovely Sunday morning at Rojnapat Residence. Everyone is already awake and ready at the breakfast table. Most Sundays are like this, where the whole family meets and bonds over breakfast and reminisce the week's events.

This week, however, is slightly special as their family friends and business partners Jane and Jack Suthulick are also joining them for the breakfast.

About Family:

Suthulicks and Rojnapat are very close family friends and business partners. They are also very long distant relatives. Their grandfathers were in fact cousins. The Suthulick and Rojnapat kids – Tharn, Kong, Arthit, and Stud all were childhood friends. But as-in the kids grew up, each moved on with their own individual interests and studies that they slightly grew apart from that childhood closeness. They still meet and spend time as family friends, but the bond is missing.

Present Day – Sunday

At Suthulick Mansion:

Jane and Jack Suthulick are ready to travel to Rojnapat Residence. The tension is visible across their faces however they try to hide it behind their smile.

As they were leaving the house, Jane asks the house caretaker: "Has Kong returned? Did he eat anything"

The mundane reply "No Madam" - creates a deeper crease of worry on her forehead.

"Please call me the moment Kong comes home, thank you" – saying Jane and Jack exit the house.

"What has happened to our Kong – Jack? He is always drinking and not home at all. I have tried all sorts of methods but he does not show any remorse. Where is our lovely Kong? The one who used to light up any dim place, where is he?" – Jane could not hold back

"Don't worry dear, let us discuss with Rojnapat's and see. I feel they will be able to help us bring our old Kong back. That accident has shaken us badly so imagine what Kong is going through. We need to be supportive of him dear. Do not worry, there will be a way" – consoled Jack.

At Rojnapat Mansion:

Jane and Jack reach Rojnapat Residence. David and Aye welcome them in. The whole family is now at the breakfast table. After breakfast, the Kids said thanks and bye to everyone and retreated to their schedules. David and Aye invite the Suthulick to their living room. He and his wife Aye already guessed something is not correct. Something was troubling their friends and they wanted to help.

"Jack, tell us what has happened. No need for any formalities among us. We already guessed something is amiss. Tell us dear friend." – David jumped straight to the point. He was aware that something only very serious could have driven their friends to look like this.

Jack was taken back by David's straightforwardness. But deep within he knew his friend can read him like a book. Jack glanced toward Jane and started after taking a deep sigh.

"Before I get into the matter, please don't hesitate if you want to say no. This will not impact our relationship or business. We did not know what to do hence thought of meeting you with this. Please don't feel any compulsion to agree upon what we say or ask." – said Jack.

"Tell us what happened, please no need to be so formal" – Aye replied and moved to sit next to Jane.

After another sigh Jack started:

"As you all know Thun and Kong's marriage was completely unexpected. However, they both were really happy. Even though it came as a surprise we as parents were content that our kids are happy. Then came the accidental passing of Thun and everything shattered. You know what we all went through and how difficult it was to get everything back together."
