Fortuitous - 06

These past days have been some of the happiest at Suthiluck Mansion in a long time. Seeing Kong sober and smiling was like the impossible dream come true for Jack and Jane.

On seeing Arthit and Kong stepping outside Kong's room, Jane ran and hugged Kong tightly. She was crying and Kong just let his mom be, slowly rubbing her back and consoling her. He knows she was worried about him. She deserves to vent her emotions.

Once Jane calmed down, she pulled Arthit and hugged him saying "Thanks Oon, Thank you very much". Jack too was emotional and waiting to hug his elder born.

It was this happy moment to which Stud walked into the first thing and he too joined the merry band and said "Welcome back P".

At the breakfast table, they all joined together after a long time and planned the day. Jane was on a roll with the list of items to do starting with visiting the temples, prayers, and merits, calling up to Rojnapat's, and sharing the happy news.

Arthit and Kong decided to stay at home and Kong asked his dad for all the work files so that he can start going through them to keep himself updated.

Jack's happiness knew no bounds, he immediately agreed and hugged his son again.

Everyone retreated to their own schedules. Arthit after freshening up and talking to his family, Arthit decided to spend time with his P'Kong like old times. He grabbed his phone and a manga, then started walking towards Kong's room. In impromptu thinking, he remembered an article that he had read about alcoholism or alcohol addiction.

Instead of going to Kong's room, Arthit deviates and walks to the bar room and makes a drink, like how his P likes. He then walks back to his P's room.

As he enters the room, Arthit finds Kong trying to keep his concentration while reading the office files. Arthit understood he has come in at the right moment.

He said, "P'Kong, come on take a break and have this drink"

Kong did not understand why Arthit gave him a drink, but he takes it and have a sip. He started feeling better after each sip.

"Don't be surprised, P. I had read an article, that the first step toward alcohol rehabilitation is to reduce the quantity and the number of times one consumes alcohol instead of stopping completely at a single stretch.

Slow and steady wins the race. This drink is your consolation price for being sober for such a long time."

"Ooh, so if I turn completely non-alcoholic, I will get a bigger prize and reward, right Oon?"- teased Kong.

Arthit was red, his face was flustered.

"Stop it P, you still know how to tease me"

"I hope I am the only one who can tease you Oon"

You have never been such a tease or a flirt before Kong. Arthit does bring out a different you. Tonight is the day I have been waiting for. - whispered someone inaudible.

"Get back to your work P." – Arthit scolded his P and started reading his manga.

"Oon Oon, Kong laughed and started reading through the files".

The day soon turned to night. After dinner, Jack and Jane retreated to their room while Stud went out to meet his friends. It was only, Arthit and Kong who were in the living watching a movie together. After some time, Arthit too went back to his room.

Kong made himself a drink, he had taken permission from everyone and enjoyed some solitude. He was slowly feeling determined to leave the past and get back into the routine. Thanks to Oon he was able to share his confidences. He trusts Oon more than anyone, even himself. After finishing up the drink, Kong slowly heads back to his room.
