All Night

Part 14

"Jaeyoon! If you don't hurry up, we'll be late!" I yelled at the boy. "I'd like to look nice since I'm meeting these people for the first time" he finished putting on his nice shirt. I rolled my eyes. I heard my mom laugh at us. "What's so funny?" I asked. "You two" she answered. I walked to the kitchen and grabbed a glass container filled with a bunch of different desserts. Jaeyoon grabbed one that had some different side dishes. We then left the house. I climbed into the car and buckled up. As we made our way to Ashlyn's house for the barbecue, Jaeyoon and I had a small banter over some random things. Once we arrived, we got out and carried our things up to the front door. My dad knocked on the door and it was opened by Ashlyn. We greeted her as she let us in. "It's nice to meet you Ashlyn, I'm Ryan, Rose's dad" he shook her hand. "And I'm Dawn, her mother" my mom then shook her hand as well. "My parents are in the back with the others" Ashlyn lead us to the back door. "I'm just waiting on the twins" she said. "Here, I'll take this me you can wait for them with her" my mom took the container from my hands. I nodded as they went to the graveyard. I waited with Ashlyn. None of us have met the twins' parents before. "I've been thinking about it for a while, but, do you think something is going on with the twins' home life?" Ashlyn suddenly asked. I looked at her as we both sat on the couch. "Maybe, they've been dodgy about it, but it's up to them to tell us or not" I replied. She nodded. Then there was a knock on the door. We both got up and Ashlyn opened it. "Who are you?" Ashlyn asked. A woman stood there. She had brown hair and eyes and she had a container of food in her hands. "Hello" she smiled. "Mom!" I heard Tyler. So this was their mom. "Why'd you go off without us?" He asked as he also carried food while Taylor carried presents. We too had gotten a present for Ben's sister since it was her birthday. "Sorry dear, I thought you were behind me" their mother replied. "So you gonna let us in or what?" Tyler asked. "Hey Ashlyn! Hey Rosie!" Taylor greeted us while their mom don't Tyler to not be rude. "Everyone's in the graveyard, we were just waiting for you guys" I said. I took some of the presents from Taylor. "Mom, this is Rosaline" Tyler introduced me to his mother. "It's nice to meet you" I shook her hand. "I've heard so much about you" the older woman smiled. We then headed to the graveyard. Ashlyn's dad came up and introduced himself to the twins' mom. "I'm Mariana, thank you for inviting us, it's a shame my husband couldn't make it" she said. The twins tensed up. "Unfortunately, he's at work right now" the older woman continued and the twins sighed. Then she started to say some other things and the twins panicked. "M-mom, look a bunny!" Taylor pointed at the small creature. "I want to pet it" the little girl, named Lily, stated. "Your wish is our command" I grinned as Jaeyoon high fives me before we got into position. "Just don't get dirty!" My mom called but it was too late. Jaeyoon and I ran along with Ben and Ashlyn to catch the rabbit. I'm sure the poor thing was terrified, I'm surprised it didn't have a heart attack. That would've been bad. "Jaeyoon! Turn right!" I yelled at him. He nodded and did as so. We chased the rabbit behind a car and it flew straight into Jaeyoon's hands. Then Lily got her wish and pet the rabbit. "Well now what do you want to do?" Taylor asked the small girl. "What about red light green light" Logan suggested. "Can we play hide and seek?" Lily asked. We liked both ideas but we started with hide and seek.

After a while it was dark outside. The adults talked about us and their memories and stories. "I remember when Rosie told us she wanted to attend that dance school in Korea" my mother laughed. "A dance school all the way in Korea?" Logan's grandmother questioned. My mom nodded. "It's a school where the world's top choreographers teach, so we decided to give it a try" my mother replied. "We stayed for a few months, that's actually where we met Jaeyoon" my dad added. My mom nodded. "Rosaline met him at the dance school" my mom said. "So they both dance?" Mrs. Banner asked. "Well...." they both looked down. "Rosaline dances, but Jaeyoon can't anymore" my mom said. "What do you mean?" Mr. Banner asked. "Well, Jaeyoon suffered from an ankle injury and he over did it while he was supposed to be resting and well, he permanently injured his ankle, so he can't dance as well as he used to" my dad explained. "But he's been in rehab so he can dance now but definitely not like he used to" my mom added. I noticed that Jaeyoon seemed to be a little upset at the mention of his injury. So I quickly grabbed his wrist and hopped over the hood of the bus that we were sitting behind. "Hey mom! I forgot to do todays practice" I stated. They looked at me. "Then what are you waiting for?" she smiled.   "What's todays dance practice?" I turned to Jaeyoon. "Today is 'We Lost The Summer' by Tomorrow X Together" he answered. "Practice with me?" I grinned. He understood what was happening and smiled. "Alright" he answered. I looked at the others. "Do you guys wanna learn too?" I asked. "YES!" Taylor shouted. I laughed. So now it was me, Jaeyoon, Taylor, Ashlyn and Aiden. We got a speaker ready along with the video ready. Then we started. I was following Beomgyu (guy in the grey hoodie), Jaeyoon was following Yeonjun (guy in the light blue shirt), Taylor was following Soobin (guy in all black), Ashlyn was following Taehyun (guy in the red hoodie) and Aiden was following Huening Kai (the guy in the greenish hoodie). 

The others clapped when we were done. "That was great" Logan's grandmother smiled. We bowed. Tyler grinned at me. "Okay, that's enough for me" I said. "Hey mom, we're going to get something from the bus" Ashlyn told her mother as Ben handed his sister to his mom. We all headed to the bus and Jaeyoon stayed with the adults. "You remember the chords right? Or do I need to go over them again?" Tyler asked as he handed the guitar to Ben. Ashlyn stared at him. "What?" the brunette crossed his arms. "You've become less of a jerk" the ginger stated. "Is that supposed to be a compliment?" he questioned. "I guess" she replied. I just laughed. "What? Are you saying you think I'm a jerk?" he turned to me. "I did in the beginning" I answered. "Okay ouch" he huffed and I laughed. "Anyways, it's nice of you to teach Ben how to play the guitar" Ashlyn said. I nodded. "I didn't take you for the guitar guy" I looked up at him. "I'm not but I know a few songs because my dad taught me" Tyler said. "How much time do we have left?" he then turned to Logan. "About two minutes" the boy answered. Once midnight hits, we automatically fall asleep during the shift. It would look like we all passed out at the same time to our parents so that's why we decided to go somewhere else. "We're still going out of town, right?" Aiden asked. "Yeah since that's what Logan suggested it" Ashlyn replied. We would be testing his distance theory. We had backups of every thing we needed, food, water, ammo and so on. I curled up on one of the seats. I closed my eyes. Then I felt something being laid on top of me. I opened my eyes again to see Tyler walking away with a smile on his face. I smiled and pulled his hoodie over myself. Then it was midnight.
