n the middle of the night, Monika wakes up to hear someone crying. She found Sayori crying in her sleep. Monika kneels by her and looks at her.
Monika: I've never seen her cry before....she must be having a nightmare.....
Monika gently shakes her awake. Sayori wakes up with tears bubbling in her beautiful blue eyes, blurring her vision.
Sayori: M-Monika? Is that you?
Monika brushes tears away from her friend's face.
Monika: Yeah....it's me.....are you okay?
Sayori: Yeah....I'm okay.....
Monika hugs her.
Monika: Did you have a nightmare?
Sayori: Yeah....it's about my dad....
Monika: Wanna talk about it?
Sayori: Yeah, I guess so.....
Monika and Sayori sat close to each other and Monika puts her hand on her friend's shoulder and holds her hand with the other and looks at her.
Sayori: Okay.....my dad....he died three years ago....it's been almost four years since he died of cancer.....he was such a nice man....he never puts himself first, he cared for me and my big brother. He also cares for my mother when she really needs him....they always have nice nights out together while my brother watches me. But a month before his death, he was diagnosed was stage five cancer....he only had almost a month to live and he spent as much time with us as he can. My mom was really upset....so was my brother....he spends a lot of time with my dad, even when I was born....and a few days before his death.....he landed in the hospital.....and before he died, he told me to keep on smiling for him....and I kept that promise.....mostly.....(sniffle)
Monika: Sayori.....
She hugs her best friend tight but gently. Sayori couldn't hold it in anymore and letted out the floodgates.
Monika: It's okay to feel sad, Sayori.....no need to be happy all the time....and there's times when you feel sad when you really need to let it all out....there's no need to hide it......you know I'm here for you no matter what, right.....
Sayori nods tearfully. Monika releases her and holds her hands affectionately.
Sayori: Can you promise not to tell the others? I'm not ready to tell them yet.....
Monika: Sure....whenever you feel ready, just talk to them.....
Sayori stops crying and one last tear rolls down her cheek. Monika catches it before it hits the floor.
Monika: Go back to sleep....I'm not going anywhere.
Sayori playfully nudges her.
Sayori: Haha....I know. ^^♡
Monika playfully ruffles Sayori's pink hair and smiles.
Monika: Just go to sleep, you little peach.
Sayori falls asleep in her sleeping bag and Monika lays down next to her.
Both of them fell asleep and James quietly opens the door and spots his sister laying with Sayori.
James: Heh....they're so cute together....Monika will tell her eventually.....
James gently closes the door.
With Natsuki and Yuri, the dark pink haired girl rolls on Yuri's side sleeply and Yuri blushes hard.
Yuri: Oh, god.... O/////O♡
Yuri accepts this and rolls over to her side and hugs Natsuki gently without waking her up. Yuri rests her chin on Natsuki's head and falls asleep.
Sorry if this took too long....I was too tired to finish but I finally finished this chapter! I'm literally almost at 20 reads and I just started this fanfic last night....thank you for that! ^^♡
