"Why would I even go out with you?" Emmalyn asked. Adam stood in front of her, "that is an excellent question" Adam said, pointing his finger. Emmalyn held a bored expression "see Adam you are a great guy but just not my type" " neither are you" he said. She was taken aback by his bluntness. "Excuse me?" she said. "We are not each other's type hence we work, see you like someone and that person will be there," he said.

"I don't like Annabeth," she said, defensively "I didn't even say who, and honestly I thought you were into Nick," he said. "I am," she said. He looked at her, "I don't know, continue" she told him. "Fine, both of them are going to be there and no one will be expecting you," "Both of them are going together?" she asked. He nodded "Do they like each other? Does he like her?" she asked. "I don't know Emmalyn they are still in will they, won't they say," he said. "

So if I go with you, you will save your face and I will get an opportunity to be closer" Emmalyn said. " See you get me," Adam said. Emmalyn seemed to consider it, "what class do you have now?" she asked him. "Same as you, let me walk you," Adam said.

" So, Adam tell me about her," Emmalyn said, " Well, she is quite difficult to explain and honestly you should figure her out yourself, as I am guessing you already know some stuff about her and yes, she dislikes strong smells, loud talkers, and slow walkers," he said "and she is allergic to cats" Emmalyn looked at him, "I know," he said.

They sat in their physics class, "and how do Nicolas and Annabeth know each other?" she asked. He smiled, "why the sudden curiosity about my friend, Emmalyn?" he asked. Emmalyn looked at her book and back at him "She had changed a lot and I finally want to know her," she said. "Feelings are confusing," he said. Emmalyn started to understand why Annabeth was friends with him.

She watched Dexter enter and she looked away, she noticed Adam looking at him, " are you.." "Bisexual," Adam said. " And crushing on my boyfriend?" She asked. "Ex-boyfriend" he corrected her and added "he is hot but would have been much hotter if he was not a complete jerk, not that it is my business but half of the population hate him" "thank you, that made me feel better to a certain extent," she said. "Your welcome and now that we are talking about crushes, do you know Thomas?" he asked. Emmalyn smiled, " I know someone much better"

"So you are going,?" He asked. " Oh absolutely," she said. The class ended, "see you around 7 Emmalyn" he said. "Absolutely and hey Adam, what kind of colors does she like, neutral colors especially white and forest green," he said. She nodded.

Emmalyn looked through Annabeth's Instagram, it was filled with pictures of her paintings and her friends. She scrolled down when her sister walked in and sat cross-legged on her bed. "Get out," Emmalyn said without looking up. "I am trying to talk to you," Evelyn said. Emmalyn kept the phone down and looked at her "speak" she said her voice laced with boredom. " I didn't mean to hurt you" she started and Emmalyn cut her off. " You are dating my ex, Eve you are my sister so I am telling you as politely as I can, get out of my room" Evelyn stood up and walked out leaving her door wide open.

She closed the door, it was nearly 6:15, she started picking up her outfit, she was stuck between a white bodycon with spaghetti straps or a dark green dress with a flowy skirt. She chose the white ones, it would compliment her recent tan. She started curling her hair when she texted Adam.

Hey, pick me up from my house, it would look serious

A few minutes later his reply came.

Sure, on my way.

She looked at herself, she knew she looked beautiful, she put on the final touch of her clear lip gloss and heard honking outside. He was here, and with one last look, she walked down. He was outside the door, her mother was out on a trip so it was just she and Eve. She locked the door and saw him wearing a white shirt. "We matched," he said. "We did," she said as he opened the door for her. "My lady," he said. She got in as he started, "They are so not expecting me" she said. "That is why there is fun in the unexpected," he said.
