"Catch me, daddy!" The little girl yelled to her father as she ran and jumped in his arms. He swung her around smiling and laughing along with his daughter.

"How's my little princess doing? Did you have a good day at school?" He asked. She smiled and wiggled in her father's hold.

"Yep! Now down daddy!"

"Is that the way to get what you want?" He said as he carried her into the house

"Please put me down daddy, pllllleeeeaaassseeee" she whined while he laughed and threw her on the couch. She laughed as he made funny faces and played with her for a while until she wore herself out.

At that time he decided to make dinner and get her ready for bed as she had school the next day. This was the cycle. Wake up, eat breakfast, brush teeth, get dressed, catch the bus, she goes to school while I go to work, get home, see daughter get off the bus, play, dinner, bed, repeat.

Repeat. Repeat. Repeat,

I couldn't handle the repetitiveness anymore. With my wife gone and no family or close friends. Only my daughter with me... I had, no no, needed to change something. So that is why I'm not there... I don't know where I am. Or who I am.

POV SWITCH

I stared out at the lake, I wanted to cry but my tears ran out long ago.

I wonder as I take a deep break in and take a step closer. Loving the smell of nature around me. Why did you leave me, dad? I still remember that day clearly.

When I was 8, I got off the bus looking around for him, but he wasn't there, I thought he fell asleep but when walking to the house the door was opened and the house was trashed. I remember being scared so scared. I cried and cried for hours just wanting my dad. That's when the cops came in and took me away.

They took me and brought me to another family. Telling me I was their daughter now. But I refused. I wanted my dad. Only dad.

Years later, here I am, at the lake still questioning, where he is. I take another deep breath and jump.

"Catch me, daddy.." I muttered jumping off the bridge

"Miriam no!" I heard before the darkness takes over
