"Ugh-ow..ow ow ow..damnit.." Rainbow Steve looked around, the cobbled walls and smooth stone ceiling and floors reminded him of the catacombs, especially with the dim lights flickering here and there from the dying torches hung against the walls."Where the hell.." Rainbow Steve blinked, before looking down his nose at himself, staring at his hands. He wasn't usually this..rude sounding. Where did this come from?He tried using his power to get out and failed miserably, lowering his hope of escaping this place. Where was he, anyway?
He heard the grinding of rocks. Turning around, he saw the walls caving in-he had to move quickly before he'd get crushed. He did exactly that, running down mazes of stairs and hallways. Everything looked the same...
"You know, it isn't safe for you to be here at this time.." Said a voice that sounded..familiar to say the least... He turned around, seeing a gray Steve-no..not a gray Steve. A dead Steve. A ghost.
"Ghost Steve!" He shouted, shocked that his friend suddenly appeared like this-what was he doing here? "Ghost Steve?-" Rainbow Steve held his hand out, forgetting he couldn't actually touch him. "I can't see you..but is that really you, Rainbow Steve?" He was about to nod, before speaking verbally instead. "It...it is."
Wait... Now that he thought about it... What in the world? Ghost shouldn't be able to hear me...what happened?
Rainbow pulled back. "I...I need to go. I'll tell Sabre when I see him again to come back to..." he hesitated. Where even is this place located? It's highly unlikely that this was the place near the Rainbow Town in that Ghost Village. "Where are we?"
"The never-ending Catacombs..They apparently move all around the world very often..so I don't know. Other than that."
He thought for a few moments. "I have to go. I have to get out of here. Is there anyway I can escape this place?" Ghost Steve only tilted his head, before floating away. "Wait!" Rainbow Steve cried without a thought, following him.He sped throughout the halls, following the transparent tail whisp of his friend ahead, turning several corners and crossing long hallways. Rainbow Steve didn't know how long it had gone on for, but at one point Ghost Steve stopped..and Rainbow nearly tripped into a portal on the floor. It was cracked and broken, as if someone had smashed glass instead of the cobblestone floor.He leaned forward, a glow radiating from the hole reflecting off his face. "Is this it?"
"I believe so. I can only sense things, Rainbow." He realized he didn't finish the sentence and say "Rainbow Steve", but brushed it away from his mind.
"What about you? Can't you come with?"
"Well..I can try."
He jumped in and watched Ghost Steve follow him through.
