The next day came and with it an air of excitement, I couldn't wait to talk to Kathrine again. Hopefully soon I might even be able to ask her out, but that's the future, for now I needed to get to work.
I got out of my apartment and drove to freddys, I quickly checked everything then went over to the kids play area to see where kathrine was.
"Hey daniel!" Kathrine smiled as she walked towards me.
"Hey kathrine." I smiled back.
"I'm a bit late but that's only because the kids wanted some pizza, I swear if I never eat another slice of that crap I'll be happy." She giggled.
"Heh, I know how you feel, so, anything happen since yesterday?"
"Not really, what about you?"
"Nothing ever happens with me." I chuckled, shrugging. The loudspeaker came on, alerting all the parents and kids that freddys band was about to start playing, kathrine ' s kids ran up to her, pretty much begging her to hurry up.
"Well I gotta go, these kids love their freddy." She smiled. "I'll see you later." She waved as she was dragged off by her kids, I waved back.
"So, daniel." I was startled by the voice, I sighed and turned around.
"Geez, scott, you nearly gave me a heart attack."
"Sorry bud, anyway, flirting with customers eh?" he smirked.
"Huh? Oh no, we-we just, we're just friends, scott." I shook my head.
"Uh huh suure... well anyways, the band's about to start so do you think you can take over for me and watch to make sure nothing happens?"
"Yeah, totally."
"Good, see you later then daniel."
"See ya." I went to the showstage, all the kids were crammed in the front to make sure they got the best view. The animatronics started up and began singing. Kathrine waved at me from near the front of the stage, her kids were excited. She said something to her kids then came over to me.
"Fancy seeing you here."
"Yeah well, I was told to make sure nothing happens to the animatronics soo..."
"So, it wasn't because you wanted to talk to me?" She sounded a bit disappointed.
"No, no I did it's just-"
"Relax, I'm joking daniel." She playfully nudged me.
"Oh uh yeah."
"So, what do you think of the robots all these kids love?"
"To be honest, they give me the creeps." I paused. "They just look... lifeless."
"Yeah... i think they're kind of cute actually." She smiled. "Especially the bunny, they have to be my favorite."
"I guess they're a little cute, I mostly like the main man, freddy, he dresses well." I chuckled.
"Rachel, my daughter, her favorite is the... duck? Or is it a chicken?"
"It's a chicken." I nodded.
"You'd never be able to tell! It looks like a duck!" She paused. "Anyway, my son, his favorites that weird puppet thing, he doesn't have a favorite animatronic."
"Yeah, that thing scares me. It always looks so angry, ya know?"
"Yeah, they're kids though, they don't think about how weird it looks." She shrugged and looked down at her watch. "I hope this song hurrys up, I've got a doctors appointment I gotta take them to."
"A doctors appointment?"
"Yeah, they've just gotta get some shots, they promised not to make a fuss If I took them here."
"Oh so it wasn't because you wanted to talk to me?" I smirked
"Hey that's my joke!" She smiled. "It was to talk to you otherwise I'd just have promised them ice cream."
The animatronics finished up their last song and kathrines kids raced up to her.
"So you gotta go now?"
"Yeah unfortunately, I'll see you tomorrow though right?"
"Yeah, of course kathrine."
"Good, well I'll see you tomorrow then."
"Yeah, see ya." We waved at each other as she walked off
Nothing else eventful happened the rest of the day, I went home to my apartment and got lost in my thoughts. I had a plan but now that I've met kathrine I wasn't sure if I should go through with it or not.
