10. (Eren's Song)

"Tuesday in the morning... I walk outside. To a police car... Pulling up to my yard., Goodbye dear stepfather. I punch my fist right through the wall. Dun... Dun... Dun... Now that it's over... I don't know how to feel moving to California... Where I won't have to deal. So whatcha think? Do you think it would make you sad? Whatcha' think? Do think it would make you sorry. well, I'm sorry. I wouldn't want to make you sorry... For me...! Ah~ Wednesday in the morning~ I walk downstairs. To the sound of my mother and my sister crying. Chain smoking cigarettes... Foot to the floor of my car as I go to confront~ You...~ Now that it's over... I don't know how to feel., Moving to California, where I won't have to deal... So whatcha' think? The song ended and Eren saw some people feeling sad and once again showing pity. But before you knew it, the judges and everyone else stood up standing and clapping giving them a standing ovation.

"What an awesome song Eren! Very sad and tearful." The announcer wiped the tears making Eren's and his band laugh and so did some people from the crowd. "Backstory time!"

Eren nodded and stood up and looked at the crowds. Eren glanced at Mikasa before to talking into the mic. "Sorry for Me is a song about the day my ex-stepdad was arrested on xmas morning in 2012. He was always abusive, physically and otherwise, but we didn't realize the extent of it until my sister told her therapist what happened to her as a kid. My sister. (Eren glanced again at Mikasa) was crying with my mom because of my stepfather. My stepfather was an asshole to us, he was a drinker, an abuser. So short summary for this short song, my stepfather was not putting us into a good place which brought my mom to a terrible place... Especially after finding out my real father went to jail. My mom did bad things like abusing me besides my sister as she cared for her dearly. She went to jail and my sister was put for foster care for a year or so until mom got back. I was old enough to live with my stepfather, so I did. I was abused by him and starved. I guess that's it." He sighed before making sure no tears dropped down.

"Wow Eren, you have a place here. We love the lyrics you write and how your stories always link up to them. You touched me, the judges and the crowds. Thank you so much for coming up here."

Eren smiled softly as they got more claps. They walked down the stage and met up with Levi and his gang. They all actually seemed sad including Levi. Eren was going to keep walking until Levi spoke, "Besides all of the drama we have Eren... I'm glad your life is doing way better than it was before." He spoke calmy as Levi got off the wall. He walked past Eren slightly putting a hand on his back before him, and his band walked off.

Eren smiled softly at Levi's nice words before shaking off the sadness he had. He high-fives his friends before they went back up into their room.

They cheered silently on how good the band actually did despite that it was a sad song. But Eren had more on the way. They get better each time.

It was just when Eren was getting bored of practicing the next song for the next competition when the announcements went off for each room. "Please head to the 7th floor as we will now proceed the name winnings of today's round."

They jumped up and ran through the doors following behind Levi's gang, They smushed each other together to the 7th floor. When they made it to the end of the state, they waited patiently, and the names started to be called.

"And for third place we have... LILIANA BRISSIA!!"

She screamed and jumped up and down as she ran up the stage with her friends. She grabbed her trophy, happily showing it off. Eren felt happy for the girl and smiled and gave her a good job as she stood beside them. "Thank you!" She giggled...

"And for second place... We have..." The suspense killed Eren as this time he knew he was going to get second. That's until he noticed the announcers face. "LEVI ACKERMAN LOSING HIS SPREE..."

Eren's eyes widened so did his band mates. He shot his head towards Levi who shrugged and jogged up the stage. He got his trophy and smiled slightly. Eren had his eyes on Levi and his band who still cheered instead of being a poor sport like how Eren was two days ago and the years before this year.

He didn't have any high hopes he was going to get first due to the fact it'll be his first time getting first in a while.

"What if were not even on the leaderboard..." Eren sighed and talked to his band mates.

"Even if were not it's okay because we did great!" Sasha gave her happiness to cheer up Eren.

"Yeah, your right Sasha... I just can't help but feel overwhelmed... I feel like I'm going to expl-"

"EREN YEAGER COMING IN HOT!!"

Eren's eyes widened. He screamed out of excitement as he ran up the stairs with his band mates loudly cheering behind him. He grabbed his trophy and held it up proud. He hands his band mates did a funny little dance making the crowd laugh. They jogged back downstairs as they walked by the others feeling a bit sad, they didn't make it, but they still wished a good job to Eren and his band mates.

He walked towards the elevator still cheering. But this wasn't over yet, as he had one more round to do until he was actually at the finals. He hoped to win it for once.

Eren thought about it. Levi didn't lose his streak at all. He lost the round, not the competition... If Eren beats Levi in the finals he will finally lose his streak... Eren will be dammed if he lets Levi win the finals.

They walked into the elevator with Levi and his band stopping the closing door. They got in and stared at us. "Good job." They all said including Petra and fucking Levi.

"But this isn't the end yet, Yeager." Levi smirked as he looked at Eren.

"Thanks... And your right. It isn't. May the best man win." Eren dropped his hand down as he held his trophy in his left waiting for Levi to shake his hand.

"May the best man win." He shook Eren's hand, and everyone awed making Levi and Eren lose their contact with their hands and blushing.

They made it to their level. Levi's face was normal while Eren was still blushing trying to cover it.

"Night Gayger." Levi winked at me before slamming the door.

I smirked. "He's pissed and he knows it." I giggled as I touched Levi's door.

My friends nodded in agreement before we got into our rooms. We changed clothes and I looked at the time. It was completely late, and this round took longer than the last. Eren jumped onto the bed as everyone in the room had already fell asleep. So, he fell asleep too smiling in his sleep for winning a trophy saying number one.

3rd POV

Levi fell asleep thinking about why he couldn't bring himself to be mad Eren won. Instead, he felt happy for the boy. But the finals, he would destroy Eren. He fell asleep smirking in his sleep... Yeah. Eren was up for a threat in the finals.
