The quiet sounds of the car wheels could be heard as an vintage looking car pulled up into the lot of Griddy's Doughnuts. Five looked up at the place as he exited the vehicle in the slightest disgust but, hey, he gets coffee at the least. Once inside, he noticed that no one else was there besides the noises of clanks in the back notify there was a worker present. The doughnut shop was almost the same as he was a kid, like it was timeless but it wasn't. You can see how old the stools and benches are just by the finer cracks on the sides, the way the walls looked more dull than thy used to and that smell. It was that type of smell when you ventured to an untouched attic with dust in the air, no longer having any warmth from the lack of people besides the bright lights Infront of them.
Five carefully sat on the stool near the counter waiting to order, he needed his coffee. Ringing the bell twice, he sighed as his patience was already starting to wear thin. A minute passed by, and heard the sudden bells of the door. Turning around he saw a middle aged man with a rather round stomach sit down next to him as he pulled out the news paper, laying the wordsearch. The boy eyed the man carefully, wondering if he was commission or just a passer and came to the conclusion, he was harmless.
Just then the waitress walks out towards the two, brushing her hands on her apron as she exhaled. "Sorry, sink was clogged." She sent a smile and chuckled lightly. Grabbing her pen and paper, she looked at the two, "So, what'll be?"
"Uh, give me a chocolate éclair." The beside Five ordered.
"mm-hmm. Sure." she nodded as she wrote, the looked to the kid and back to the man. "Can I get the kid a glass of milk or something?"
Five scoffed already irked, "The kid wants coffee. Black."
"Make it two, please." A sweet yet breathless voice called from the entrance. Five could hear the small footsteps near the counter until she was in his side view, sitting on the stool two seats down from him. He didn't hear the bells ring.
"Sure thing, sweetie." The old women smiled. The girl clenched her jaw and glared at the poor woman but it went unnoticed to her as she looked at Five, who gave her a rather irritated, sarcastic smile. "Cute kid." she spoke out before leaving to the back.
Y/N listened intently to the boys comments as she stared at her hands, withering them together like a pit of snakes. His comments were boring and rather childish for the topic of this dump but nonetheless it gave her some light on him. From just his comments she can tell, Five is a very judgmental person with very low patience. How does she know that? Well, he is talking about anything while he waits for the coffee before he will snap at the woman for his order.
"Here." The waitress gave them their orders.
The two kids took a sip out of their cups and held a grimaced, this was the most horrid coffee ever in the history of coffee making. Though they did have separate reasons for it, Y/N's reasoning was that she did not expect for Five to get the most horrible and disgustful coffee invented on the menu. Therefore, in her mind she was justified.
Why couldn't have he picked a regular cup of coffee like a normal person. Expect he wasn't normal, he was a time traveling assassin with teleporting powers and an enormous ego.
"I got theirs." The old man grabbed out his wallet and paid all three in cash.
"Thanks." Five and Y/N said at the same time.
Y/N drummed her fingers on the counter top as she listened to Five get an address from the old guy. She was intrigued at what might so special for him at the designated place but time will tell. Once the old guy left, it was silent. You could hear a penny drop a mile away at this point.
