chapter four

I always wake up early in Cousins, something about getting up early and going to the beach to watch the sunrise made me so happy. But, this morning was different.

I woke up due to shuffling coming from either side of me in a bed. I quickly opened my eyes and realised that I was lying in Conrad's bed beside him and his brother Jeremiah.

"You're awake," I voice softy spoke.

I had my head rested on Conrad's chest and Jere's arms were wrapped around my body.

"When did we fall asleep?" I whispered.

"I guess we just did," he chuckled.

"I'm going to the beach, wanna come?" he asked.

"Yeah I was going to go anyway, how do I get him off me?" I giggled.

"Here I'll help, just slip out of his grip."

Conrad stood up from the bed and offered me a hand which I took tightly, I slowly slipped out of Jeremiah's arms and double-checked we didn't wake him up.

"Meet me out the back in 5 mins," Conrad said.

"Alright see you then."

I let go of his hand and left to go to my room. I changed into different shorts but kept my short tank top on, adding a hoodie and also grabbing a joint to start off the day. After I had everything, I quietly left the house and met with Connie out the back.

We walked until we found a nice quiet spot on the beach outside our house and sat down to watch the sunrise. When we were seated, I grabbed my joint and lit it, Conrad doing the same with his. It was peaceful and quiet.

"Do you remember anything that happened last night? We were pretty wasted," I smiled. I was interested. Did he remember playing with my hair and all the compliments?

"I always remember everything when I'm drunk."

"Oh, yeah ok same," I replied.

So he remembers.

"So both of you guys smoke. Are you both addicted?" a voice asked from behind us. It was Belly. She sat herself down next to me, staring at Conrad and I.

"No, I'm not addicted," I giggled, reassuring her even though it was a lie. I mean I don't think I'm addicted, just enjoy it a lot.

"Give me a puff," she asked.

"No," Conrad said.

"Yeah no way," I added.

"Why not?"

"Laural would kill us," Conrad laughed.

"Well if I can't smoke, you guys cant smoke."

"Yeah I'm not making deals here," I laughed.
