chapter twelve

The sun had set and it was nearly 12am. After speaking to Connie, I said I'd talk to him when I was soberer and after I helped Jere set up the fireworks which he had been looking forward to the whole night. He told me that their dad had left to go back on his business trip without really saying much. I felt bad for jere, we all knew something was going on with Sussanah and Mr Fisher but didn't know what.

After I helped him with the firework set up, my brother and Steven arrived home and apparently Sussanah had fallen asleep with my mom and Laurel had fallen asleep with belly, so it was just us older kids. I was only tipsy now and had control over what I was doing and saying so I decided to go put some clothes on before the fireworks.

I walked up to my room and threw on a short overthrow skirt which came with the bathers. There was practically no point in wearing it as it was mesh and you could see my whole ass through it and I wasn't wearing a top but it pulled everything together.

I was now making my way back downstairs and to the fireworks. As I opened the sliding back door and then closing it behind me, I saw Conrad standing on the dock, leaning against the railing.

I decided that it was best to talk to him and hopefully make things normal again so I headed down the pathway to the dock, walking until I was next to him. I copied his action by resting my hands on the railing.

He turned his head from the view in front to look at my side profile, "I'm really sorry b, I should have trusted you."

I turned my head to now look at him in the eyes, "Trust me Connie, I forgive you."

"What are we?" I asked.  I have no idea what we are. Is it like a friends with benefits thing? One time thing? Or forever?

"Why don't we stay how we were. Friends with strong feelings for each other, we will see where it takes us," he said.

So he wanted to continue this? A small tint of blush rushed up my cheeks, "Yeah, sounds good," I softly smiled. I was stuttering due to how nervous he made me. Guys never made me nervous. Espicially not like this so this is new to me.

"I've always loved your smile, it's so beautiful," he said, taking the hand closet to me off the railing.

"It's just like every other smile."

"No it isnt, because it's your smile."

He turned his whole body so it was facing me and i did the same. He then placed his hands on my waist, sending a rush of butterflies around my stomach and a chill up my spine. I swear goosebumps started to appear. I looked up at the boy who was quite a bit taller than me, looking into his bluey green eyes.

"You're the most beautiful boy I've ever met, you know that right?" I blushed.

"And you're the most gorgeous girl I've ever met, you know that right?" I swear i saw his cheeks turn a light shade of pink.

Our faces inched closer together, stopping right before our lips touched. He almost seemed uncertain if it was right to kiss me or not.

"Just kiss me already Conrad," I whispered, feeling his breath against my lips.

Before i knew it, our lips attached to one another. The kiss was slow and passionate.

The sound of a loud fireworks coming from the beach made us quickly pull our lips apart, staying in the same position but turning our heads to look at the fireworks our brothers and Steven had sent off.

I looked up at Conrad who was looking at the fireworks. I don't think i'd seen him this happy in a while. There was a huge smile plastered across his face, making his cheeks turn red.

He caught me staring at him and looked down at me, with the smile still on his face, making my smile grow bigger.

He leaned back into the kiss, continuing where we left off. He grazed his tongue along my lip and I allowed his tongue to enter my mouth. Our tongues met, working at the same pace, keeping the kiss passionate.

He removed his hands from my waist, moving them to the underneath of my thighs, still making out with me. He picked me up by my thighs, moving me so i was against the railing.

But then, he pulled away from the kiss, looking at me deeply in the eyes.

"As much as I'd love to continue this, we don't need your brother or steven seeing," he laughed, placing me back on the ground.

"Yeah, I agree," I laughed, turning back to face the nearly finished fireworks.

He stood behind me, wrapping his arms around my shoulders before saying, "Let's go find the others."
