The Leon Parable (AU)

Chapter 2 - No Control

[Get out of the room] <

The door closes behind Leon.

Leon finds themself in an empty hall. Many of the windows look into their co-workers' offices. Others give a look outwards into a cold dark night that supposedly surrounds the prison.

[Go forward] <

"All of his co-workers were gone. What could it mean?"

"Leon decided to check on the prisoner's cells, maybe he could find some info there."

...

[Continue forward] <

Debatably, these halls weren't familiar to Leon at all.
... Or were they? Leon wasn't sure. They don't remember what their workplace looked like anyway.

At the moment, it would be hard to try to figure it out right now. Everyone was still missing, after all.

"When Leon came to a set of two open doors, he entered the door on his left."

[Go right] <

"This wasn't the right way to the prisoner's cells, and Leon knew that perfectly well."

"Maybe Leon decided to check on the lobby first, just to admire it."

Leon enters the lobby.

The lobby itself looks a lot like a generic office lobby. An area to the side has some couches and a coffee table, another side has a reception desk, and the wall across from Leon has an elevator.
Although, the room isn't quite generically shaped, there are long halls and extra room pockets that stretch out from certain walls.

"Ah yes, truly a room worth admiring. It was definitely worth the detour after all, just to spend a few moments in this beautiful room."

"Leon simply stood there, taking it all in."

"Eventually, he would need to get back to checking the prisoner cells."

"When he was done taking in the majesty of the room, Leon went through the left door to get back on track."

[Enter the elevator] <

The elevator door closes behind Leon.

"Leon was so bad at listening to instructions, it's a wonder why he wasn't fired years ago."

The panel on the front side of the elevator only has two buttons, 'Floor X' and 'Floor 8'.
The 'Floor 8' button lights up seemingly on its own.

"Leon. Listen mate, I think we got the wrong first impression on each other here."

"I'm not trying to lead you astray, really! I know that trusting people isn't really a viable thing at first,"
